Miyo’s Restaurant is one of my favorite places in town. I love the versatile menu, the creative drinks, and the comfortable atmosphere. This is a place you can go to for a relaxing lunch or an upscale dinner! If you’re looking for Asian cuisine with a French influence, I highly recommend that you try Miyo’s Restaurant! The egg toast is one of my all time favorite items!

If I had to summarize our entire experience in 1 word, it would be: mediocre. From the moment we arrived the hostess was a point and shoot personality. Not necessarily rude but definitely not friendly either. The kind of attitude that made you feel slightly awkward and like youre inconveniencing them for being there.
We got bento box pork katsu and sesame chicken. The food is absolutely fresh and hot. The flavors are mediocre. Pork katsu was the better of the two: tender meat and lightly battered without being too deep friend but it was generic in flavor.
The tempura was very good. Again, light and crispy without being too oily or deep friend
Miso soup was excellent
Will we come back? Probably not

I was just there as a vegetarian. Got the vegetable curry and tempura vegetables. The tempura vegetables were very good but it wasn’t much for the price. The vegetable curry was good flavor wise but there was one 2″ piece of brocolli and some, but not many very small bits of other vegetables, like 1/2″ or smaller. It looked like the cut scraps from other dishes. I would have expected to have actual vegetables in the dish but it was just rice and curry sauce. And it wasn’t cheap.

Sushi selection is limited but very good. We did the bento box dinners for $25. Lot of food good price. We sat outside and they made it clear they don’t serve alcohol outside have to be indoors but we were willing to forgo it to sit our party of eight. Highly recommend the tempura. Whole family really enjoyed the atmosphere of sitting outside good music pouring out of the bar area and great service.

Food was great, easy to find parking. I personally love the Izakaya side where the Bar is. Loved the Fried tofu, deep fried scallops, crispy rice, deep fried oysters. The tartar sauce is ono. There’s a lot of regulars that come here, the staff seems to know them all by name. Staff is friendly. Oh and their cocktails are awesome too.
Also had to mention they use high quality meats and seafood. If they can’t get good quality they won’t serve it….I appreciate that type of pride in an establishment. Always love coming here every time we fly in from Oahu. They change the menu every now and then so it keeps it interesting, and they keep their amazing staples like the egg toast

Miyo’s is hands down my favorite restaurant in Hilo. My go-to for years has always been the Ahi Don plate BUT now days I’ve been ordering the steak and tempura plate, it’s always cooked to perfection, presentation is always beautiful and the portion sizes are on point! Now let’s talk about the Egg Toast – this is a MUST order. They sometimes sell out, so be sure to order as soon as you’re seated. The hot pot is also definitely worth a mention, so flavorful and such a fun dish to eat out. Make sure to check out their bar menu, they have great pupu options if you’re looking for a lighter portions. ALSO, their drink menu is fire. They have the homiest and most comfortable ambiance. Remember, they are also open for LUNCH too!!

Miyo’s is hands-down our favorite restaurant in Hilo. Whether we’re out for a date night, grabbing a pau hana cocktail at the bar, or getting together with friends for a group dinner, it’s always the best. The food is perfection. Our favorites are Chef Louis’ Egg Toast, the Chicken Katsu, Squid and Eggplant plate, and ALL of the pupus are amazing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and and the service is always friendly.
It’s the first place we recommend to any visitors because it never disappoints. We absolutely love Miyo’s!

Ah! Came here for lunch with my partner and it was so so good! They don’t even offer fork and knife (you have to ask for them i think), because they gave us chopsticks! That was a first for me and it shows how authentic and good this food is!
