Here are some thoughts about what I know about Miya Lounge and my experience:
So the name of the restaurant is misleading because I think often times when people hear ‘lounge’ they think of a place that has alcohol/hookah. This place has neither.
If you truly care about good food and not the aesthetics at all, then you will really enjoy this place. It’s definitely more of a carryout spot, but there are plenty of tables and seats to sit at if you want to relax. I will say, if you also want your food quickly, call in your order first, because you are not going to receive it quickly (the dishes definitely take time to prepare).
When it comes to the food, they definitely have some of the best suya in the area. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the suya tacos though. I think the cheese takes away from the flavor of the suya and when it comes to jollof rice, I think it could use more flavor and spice, but I may be biased because I’m Nigerian lol.
The suya pizza was a fish suya pizza and it was really good. It was not fishy at all and had good flavor. The goat pepper soup was delicious. The goat was nice and tender. I also really liked the eru and now am wishing I put more on my plate.
When I come back, I also really want to try the grilled fish because it looks so good

Their Cameroonian Beverages
The Passionfruit Ginger Beer ($5). DELICIOUS! Spicy, good.
The Passionfruit Soda ($10). STAMP!! Sweet, fruity, refreshing!!
The Sorrel Soda ($5). DELICIOUS!! It didn’t taste like sorrel, but it was carbonated.
Their Spicy Chicken (with onions, spicy pepper sauce, & Jollof rice $12.99). LIKE THAT!! The pepper sauce is HOT SPICY HOT!! But it didn’t take away from the taste of the chicken!
The Jollof Rice ($7.99). DECENT. Good, I just needed it to be spicer.
Their Pepper Soup Goat (with boiled yams, & spices $14.99). Cousin Kim STAMPED it…but she said get it spicy!!
Their Suya Pizza (with mozzarella, a Suya marinara, pepper sauce, onions, & spinach $14.99). STAMP!! Surprised? ME TOO!! These ingredients blended perfectly together!! Buttery, rich, meaty, & mildly spicy!! MUST HAVE!!
Their Suya Tacos (with beef, onions, cheese, jollof rice, & a spicy aioli $15). LIKE THAT!! Meaty, well spiced, but I’d leave the cheese off.
Their Eru & Lamb Fufu (with Eru-a vegetable soup made of Okazi leaves, lamb, & Fufu-a handheld mashed potato food $24.99). LIKE THAT!! The hearty tastefully bitter’ish soup, soft Fufu, and meaty lamb.
