This place is an absolute gem! The service is always great! I’ve been on a Saturday a few times and each time they have showed movies in the back which is so fun for adults and children. The Brussels sprouts are out of this world. I highly recommended the pork belly!! Holy cow it melts in your mouth. I’m not a pork belly fan but I would order this any time! They also offer the pork belly burnt ends with are yummy but I personally think the pork belly is better. The drinks are delicious here as well.

I have to say that it is a little on the hipster side and the place was open clean and welcoming. The people were very nice and friendly. Seeing that I don’t drink I can not speak to the “Bar” part of this joint, and seeing that the drink menu is twice the size of the food menu I can only speak about the food. As you can see it is very limited, but in some cases that fine. I would rather have a few item done to perfection, then a huge menu with everything mediocre. We came in with no clue what kind of food they had and had to Google the place and look at pics just to know what an OG was or what you would get if you ordered chicken. The menu is not very descriptive to what you are actually ordering. we ended up getting the pork belly and the OG which is a brisket sandwich. The food came out quickly and we dug right in. The pork bell which in most cases is super sweet but this one was savery and I have to admit I liked it. The Brisket sandwich was OK at best. Nether one had even a hint of smoke and really lacked in flavor. The portions were small at best 4 slices of pork belly for $15 and the OG was $15 as well. We ordered beans for a side and once again very little flavor. Not to mention ALL of the food was room temperature. Hot food always tastes better. this is why I gave 3 stars. Cold and lacking flavor. The wife said we probably would not ever go back. If you look at my reviews it is very rare for me to give 3 ‘s but it is what it is.

This place is amazing. We had the OG, pork belly and the Brussels. Pretty sure it was the best we’ve ever had. Nice atmosphere, just not enough sitting area. Cocktails were also great.

Intimate space that invites you to enjoy craft cocktails ( or beer / wine) with a small menu showcasing the talents of the pit master . Friendly , knowledgeable staff. Nice back porch seating and beautiful landscape paintings on the walls.

The restaurant Taylor so desperately needed. As a resident of Taylor for over six years I’ll honestly say that Mixtape is the best combination of cool vibes, proper cocktails & skilled plates.
Let’s start with the skilled plates. Ryan Davenport has been my friend since my first month in town. We stumbled across each other at Texas Beer Co’s bar and hit it off instantly. His background is smoking meats & singing tunes. His meals are going to be rather simple dishes from a bird’s eye with 1 meat & 1 side but rest assured that meat is well thought out and well executed with over a decade of experience. I’ve had the og (brisket sandwich), pork belly (multiple times) & recently the pork chop which was incredible. I highly recommend the pork belly & kimchi side.
About the drinks. Honestly I don’t drink anymore and fortunately they create an exceptional mock-tail. But like several sober people I know a solid drink. The cocktails are prepared by Taylor’s finest bartenders that put the finest details in every glass.
Finally the atmosphere. This spot was probably six months in the making. They’ve knocked down walls, adjusted ceilings, revamped the outdoor space & put just as much detail (as in everything else) into the decor.

Great vibe. Amazing drinks and fantastic bites to eat. If your new to Taylor or just looking for a place to grab a great drink and a snack. Mixtape is definitely the spot to go in Taylor!

Really cool new spot in Taylor and quite busy. Great atmosphere with nice patio and open, somewhat loud place. Menu is really limited with a smoked meats theme with cocktails and wine. OG brisket sandwich needs BBQ sauce and should come with a side. Smoked chicken is a bit dry, have had it twice but great flavor. It should also come with some BBQ sauce. The pork stew is the best item on the menu – great depth of flavor with solid spice. I would like to see the menu change more often and a broader wine list but I am sure that will come with more success.

Incredibly delicious food and cocktails crafted by welcoming folks in a relaxing space. The entire menu is fantastic — just go with what sounds best in the moment (but always add the Brussels), and then plan to keep coming back to try the rest. So happy Ryan, Alecia, and crew have created this gem in downtown Taylor!

Had heard from nearby Taylor Bike Company that this was a must go to dining spot- so tried it tonight last minute and were very pleased. Really cool space in an old building. The bartender (owner) walked over to our table as we sat down and welcomed us sincerely. Our food was excellent- and served quickly – yummy pork belly and roasted brussel sprouts together just comfortably enough and good drinks as well all at a very reasonable price. Can’t wait to go back and try some of their other fare.
