Great spot. It’s definitely not well advertised and if you’re not specifically looking for this place, you likely won’t notice it. On the main side of the building, all you see is a bait shop. You have to be all the way to the left (east) side to even see a sign and entrance. Despite that, it’s fairly crowded and there’s a line to order. The food is well priced, prepared with love, and definitely fresh. This is the place for seafood lovers. I had lobster, clam chowder, salad, and mussels. The chowder wasn’t that creamy but lots of clams. Mussels were also not super plump. But the lobster was very fresh and well done. I’d be back to try the grilled fish next time.

This place is an absolute gem! We had the chowder soup and it was super good and full of amazing taste. We also tried the Spiny Lobster which was cooked perfectly, super fresh and flavorful. Their lemonade stood out! My husband had the wahoo fish and he loved it. The view while eating is also incredible.
Highly recommended if you are a seafood lover.

Enjoyable location, friendly staff, good food. The fish tacos have a little bit of diced jalapeño on them so be aware of that if you don’t want some slight heat. The chowder was a bit peppery but I enjoyed that.

One of the only places I’ll go to for seafood! Everything is fresh, and it’s all reasonably priced. This is the place to go if you just want good seafood and a serene view without the frills of an overpriced dine-in experience. If you sit on the deck, be prepared to defend your plate. Seagulls are ruthless but the view is so relaxing and I promise your food won’t last long on your plate anyway. I love the grilled shrimp skewers and I never leave without one kind of fish taco and a golden fried fillet. Fry basket shrimp are yuge. Also Matt who works there is rad!

Food was great – recommend shrimp taco honestly better than other 3 types of fish tacos imo. And fried calamari was also great. Reason why I rated this place low is because of the section of the outdoor seating that really shouldn’t be availble to sit at because of the pigeons and seagulls aiming at your food all the time. It’s sort of on us also though to not wait out the indoor seating but either get more protection for the outdoor seating or make it obvious of the risks before sitting because it was quite unpleasant to move in the middle of the meal.

The food tasted decent. I thought the seafood was fresh, but for the price I was expecting more flavor. I likes the grilled shrimp, but I would probably pass on the halibut fish taco, avocado crab toast, and shrimp cocktail. Atmosphere was fine, and the service I would say was good. Next time I want to try the mussels and clams.

It’s your typical by-the-dock dining experience. It’s much better of eating outside looking at the boats than sitting inside. Yes, seating is rather limited and the tight space will get crowded during peak.
If you do order fried stuff like I did, please don’t have it to go. It doesn’t so the chef justice. The food has great flavor and incredible portion. I ordered the seafood platter: 3 pieces of shrimps, 1 crab cake, 1 piece of fish and a lot of fries.
My recommendation to the restaurant would be cut the amount of the fries by half and put in extra piece of fish.
Generally, the experience was pleasant and the staff were friendly. From the pics, you can tell that they care about the environment.

There is no competition with the restaurant next door because Mitch’s is the clear winner, especially since I had both restaurants back to back. Mitch’s has a more thought out menu and full kitchen. The quality really shows as well. The Fisherman’s stew is a real star. It’s very tomato forward and has tons of seafood for the price. The clam chowder is also fully loaded. Looking forward to coming back. There are a couple spots in the parking lot that have free parking for 1hr.

I stopped by this place for lunch in Point Loma after seeing how highly rated it was on Google, and it definitely seemed popular. Even on a weekday afternoon, the place was bustling with people. One thing to note: there’s no free parking — the lot next to it is paid, and they do not validate, so be prepared to pay for parking.
The restaurant has a very casual, self-service setup. You walk in, read the menu written on a chalkboard, place your order, take a number, and find your own seat. The menu isn’t huge, but it offers a solid mix: fried seafood plates, stews, grilled fish, sandwiches, and a few taco-style options. Everything is based on fresh catch, which is a big plus.
I couldn’t decide at first — the grilled lobster and soups looked great — but I eventually chose the mixed seafood platter, which was a giant fried assortment served with coleslaw and fries. The portion was huge, definitely enough to share. It included shrimp, calamari/tentacles, a big crab cake, and a couple pieces of fried fish (likely cod or another white fish). Everything was very fresh, crispy, and delicious, but extremely filling since everything is fried. It came with lemon wedges and tartar sauce, which helped cut the richness.
Next time, I might try the fisherman’s stew or one of the grilled options, but this was still a satisfying pick.
The outdoor deck seating is a bonus — you get a nice view of the marina with lots of boats and ocean breeze. Just be mindful of seagulls and pigeons; they are bold and will absolutely try to steal food. The overall vibe is very laid-back, more like a seafood shack than a formal restaurant.
Fresh seafood, generous portions, casual atmosphere — definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Casual spot with good quality and nice views.
– Crab cakes 5/5 – these really stood out and were perfectly cooked
– Fish tacos (grilled and fried) 4/5 – these were great but don’t necessarily stand out in San Diego.
– Calamari 3/5 – lacked seasoning and didn’t care for the dipping sauce but was of good quality
– Grilled rockfish 3/5 – cooked nicely and was high quality but also lacked seasoning and the herb verde was lackluster. Coleslaw was nice however.
