Since opening their first restaurant in Glasgow over 20 years ago, Mister Singh’s India has embarked on an incredible journey. Four generations of the Singh family have made it their mission to establish themselves as masters of Indian cuisine within the city – and they’ve succeeded. Their reputation now extends far beyond the reach of Glasgow, hence their slogan ‘The World Famous’. Although the family have undeniably worked hard to build their reputation, success would never have arrived without the devoted support of the Glasgow locals, who’ve never shied away from booking a table or trying out a new dish on the menu. The influence that the locals have had on the family is reflected in several of the dishes that now occupy the menu
Indian spices and fragrances mixed with Scottish produce in modest rooms hung with Asian art.

The demonstration was followed by a 4 course meal which was amazing again.Thankyou all at Mr Singh
The atmosphere from the tartan chairs and decorative blinds to the handmade (by an artist I’m told) hardwood railings and mirror frames was warm and playful.
Then came the food. After Papadums dropped with a lovely spiced onion accompaniment and (mango chutney?) – The Pakora took our interest and I had read online about the Haggis Pakora.. Must try. We got the serving of three and it was a great way to start our meal, with the dipping sauce a nice mild spice to awaken the palate!
We went for the Lamb Ambala, a secret curry recipe that has traversed the generations, and it easily one of the best dishes I’ve tasted. Intricately spiced and the lamb was succulent and tender. Then we had a garlic naan (huge, soft and well cooked) alongside a Chicken Kashmiri Korma, which was fruity, creamy, and mild for my folks who prefer lighter ️ levels . It had pineapple and mango and was delightful. Naan was there to mop up extra sauciness.
At the close of our visit, the staff were so kind, Sati regaled us of some Mr Singh history and some local Glaswegian tales, and I was also given a dram of Mr Singh’s whisky.. I honestly left the venue in the best spirits and so did my folks.
Thanks to the team and we will ABSOLUTELY be back. Five Stars!!
We made a last‑minute booking at Mister Singh’s India and honestly cannot fault a single thing. The food was an absolute 10/10 – I had the korma which was rich and full of flavour, while my partner went for the South Indian garlic chilli. He loves his spice and was absolutely delighted. Every dish was delicious!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service really stood out – attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. We were even gifted a lovely curry they’re developing, which looks incredible, and we can’t wait to try it tomorrow.
Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back and could not recommend Mister Singh’s India highly enough!
For me it was the first time trying this type of food, this place was highly recommended and I’m glad we visited. It was so good!!
I have food allergies and it was no problem at all. It was a very nice experience.
The service was outstanding, which we all commented on whilst we were here, and the food was the best Indian I’ve ever had.
I can personally vouch for the Ambala (the Singh family signature dish), which was amazing with the soft cooked lamb.
Highly recommend coming here, and I’ll be back, many times
We will be back and maybe bring you some old gers stuff to look at.
Simply excellent.
