The Global Gourmand
Update. 4th trip to this location, sunday brunch.
The service has historically been great here, today was beyond slow. 8 tables across 2.5 hours, 2 servers, and I still had to chase mine down to order. Ultimately we would have ordered 2 more rounds of drinks and more food had they just checked on us at a normal interval.
Lost a star on service for it. They kept their bonus star for other establishments.
Funniest comment at brunch over the 10 dollar rocks glass of horchata was “the crunch wrap was pretty good, about as good as the one from Taco Bell, but 3x the price.”
I will happily update this review on my next visit.

Had an amazing lunch here! Really cannot say enough good things. Everything we ate was delicious. Maybe the best tortillas I’ve ever had!
I wish I could eat that pork mojo every day. The hash was so good my wife got mad at me for picking at it so much!
As great as the food was the staff made it even better. Allie was the best. Made amazing drinks and gave us some great recommendations for where else to go.
Can’t wait to go back! It’s that good!

We had a great experience at Mr. Oso. The tacos were absolutely delicious—fresh, savory, and thoughtfully crafted. The atmosphere was lively and bright, with a fun, energetic vibe that made the whole meal even more enjoyable. A perfect spot for casual dining with bold flavors and great energy.

Tried a new restaurant in Boulder last night with a group of four—really glad we did. The place has a relaxed, welcoming feel and the staff were great. We shared a few plates, and the standouts were the Tuna Crudo, Cauliflower Tacos, Birria Tacos, and Green Curry Tacos. Everything was well done and easy to enjoy. We’d happily go back.

As a huge fan and loyal customer to the other Mister Oso’s, I couldn’t wait for the grand opening of the new location in Boulder! I can’t say enough amazing things about my experience! Great food, cocktails and service. Everyone there was so nice and the atmosphere and music was lively. The beautiful decor in a large open space with light shining in took the spotlight for me. Coconut rice and homemade tortillas are still my favorite every time! You can’t go wrong ordering any cocktail (or 2) there. Will be back this week!

We wee told by a friend that the Mr Oso in Denver was a great place to eat. Not wanting to deal with Denver we went to the Boulder location. Being on the hill the parking is a nightmare. I ordered the posole. Having eaten posole in Mexico and other local restaurants, I
was hoping for a good meal. The presentation was nice. All the fixings for a good posole. The meal was so salty it burned my tongue. Was only able to take a few bites. When I expressed this to the waiter and the kitchen I was told that the posole was a little salty but maybe “I was salt sensitive”. I am not salt sensitive. I know a flavorful posole over an oversalted posole. Won’t be back.

Perhaps the problem was my high expectation- from outside it looked so cute and fun, inside seemed like a chaotic corporate chain with an entire front of house staff under the age of 30 and almost all the plants were fake. Our server told us they were unable to split the tab of over six guests, which was the first any of us had heard of this “policy”. I think the servers do a great job but being inexperienced and perhaps lacking in some common sense that life experience and working in “real” restaurants provide. Just saying, the Dark Horse was able to split a tab, in fact most of the restaurants I’ve ever worked at or dined at are perfectly capable of splitting tabs- it’s absurd to have a server holding a POS machine at the table and then not give them autonomy or confidence to perform a routine mathematical function. I wish a new concept restaurant would become trendy that just provided straightforward food and service without the novelty and gimmicks.

I have so many wonderful things say about my experience here, I don’t even know where to begin! The atmosphere is so fun and inviting. We started off with the queso and guacamole(as you can see it didn’t take long for me to go in on the queso) we also had the opportunity to try this tuna dish that blew my mind. The citrus garnish paired so well with the tuna! We also had the BBQ empanadas which we inhaled so fast we almost forgot the delicious sauce which is an absolute must have. I even put some on my brisket carnitas which I recommend because they are spicy but so full of flavor! My better half went with the lamb barbacoa tacos which he loved! The tortillas were so light and flavorful, such a fan. I also highly recommend the tamarind margarita. It’s lightly sweet and refreshing! We immediately gravitated towards the churros for dessert and I wish I could eat them everyday. They’re the first churros I’ve had in a long time that weren’t rock hard and dry. They were so perfectly cooked and the brown butter sauce with it is absolutely mouthwatering. I cannot wait to come back and try everything else! Shoutout to Drew and our server Justin for making our first experience so great! The whole team looked genuinely happy to there and provided fantastic service from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out!
