Sides were strong: mac & cheese was creamy, beans were sweet and smoky, and the sticky cornbread? Unreal. Like dessert with a drizzle of magic. Sweet tea was brewed right—not too sugary, just clean and flavorful.
Place is super clean and modern. Staff was friendly, and Lee himself brought out the food. You can tell he loves what he does. Prices are fair for the quality. I’ll definitely be back.
I have now gone to mistah lees twice now, trying most of the menu. First off, the service is always superb, the lady at the front with dark blonde hair is extremely attentive and truly kind in a way we dont see in service anymore. Ambience is nice, similar to any modern lunch spot, and food comes relatively quick.
Pulled pork sandwich: AMAZING. flavorful, not dry at all, and the cole slaw tastes great on it too. the carolina bbq sauce that comes on it is great if you’re a sweet bbq lover.
Pulled chicken sandwich: Also great
Mac and cheese: SO good. There is a level of quality to the sauce itself, it has more of that sauce taste as opposed to a cheap cheese taste. Lightly crispy top too
Brisket: Flavorful, not usually huge on brisket but it was great
Sausage: Im very picky about sausage but liked it a lot!
Chicken: Really good! It was some sort of lemon chicken
Cornbread: Soooo good, typical good cornbread taste, but some kind of real good maple sauce on top!
Overall, this is a spot that honestly exceeded my expectations, as I originally went on a whim. Great place!
We loved our visit and hope to be in that area again, because we would definitely pull in.
However, for over $75, the portion size was surprisingly small. I even asked the cashier if this was the standard amount, and he confirmed it was. I was genuinely shocked.
The biggest letdown was the meat. I ordered brisket, pulled pork, and ribs—and none of them had any noticeable BBQ or smoky flavor. On top of that, I wasn’t given any sauce in my to-go order, which made everything feel dry and underwhelming.
Unfortunately, given the lack of flavor, small portions, and high price, I won’t be returning.
My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and enjoyed every bite. I went with the house smoked sausage sandwich, and it even came with a little extra sausage on the side — such a great touch. The flavor was spot on, and the cornbread? Like dessert — sweet, moist, and unforgettable.
The portions are generous, the food is clearly made with love, and the service was just as warm as the food. As for the ambiance, it’s a quick-serve setup — you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. If you’re looking for good food without the full sit-down restaurant experience, this is your place.
We’ll definitely be back — and you should absolutely add Mistah Lee’s to your must-try list!
Went on a Saturday night around 7 and found that they were out of pastrami, sausage, and chicken. need to return to try those items.
Ordered the 2-Meat Platter and comes with a choice of Brisket, Rib of the Day,
1/4 Chicken, Pulled Pork, or Sausage. Got the pulled pork and ribs, both very good. Also choice of 2 sides; Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Caesar Salad,
Honey Maple Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, and Sticky Cornbread. Chose the Mac n Cheese for my wife who thought it was dry and Honey Maple Baked Beans for me, very good.
Next time, I”ll call first to see what items they have.
An extensive Menu with selectible options.
Brisket sandwich is full of flavor on its own. I purposely tried it with the coleslaw and pickle on the side. Downright delectable! The coleslaw is crisp, fresh and just the right amount of tanginess to add zest not take away or overpower or soak the sandwich. The pickles are crispy and full of a fresh bite. The buns seemed like they were just toasted and fresh with a nice firminess with still being soft
The pulled pork sandwich is so soft and juicy; mouthwatering.
Sauces deserve awards all on their own!
Sweet and Savory – amazing, full of flavor and sweet but not overpowering. Perfection
The Smoke – full bodied but again not over powering or too heavy on zest but a great BBQ sauce
Carolina is nice and not too watery but full of bite and full bodied vinegary goodness
For sides I tried the Mac and Cheese. Another great item, cheesiness without being too gooey and just the right amount of cooking to give it that slight BBQ char
The Cornbread is downright like Grandma used to make from scratch. Sweet and solid not flakey or starchy. The right heavy food to soak up some sauce and fill you up right
We ordered the three meet plates with Ribs of the day (St Louis today) Brisket and smoked sausage that were perfectly made dry rub with choice of Sweet bbq or Mustard bbq sauce on the side on your plate. We went with the amazing beans and coleslaw, just so good I wanted to lick the bowl of the beans they were so good. Tried the cornbread that was smothered In a sweet butter. This is a place I could spend every week trying something new out of the smoker.
We had a chance to meet Mistah Lee who was so gracious. He had us try his Smoked Pastrami Rib that was so full of flavor and so tender that you pulled the meat right of of the bone. We will have to make this a regular spot for us since it is nearby. indoor for a ouple of dozen folks to sit and outdoor seating. walk up to the counter and choose your next plater of meat!
update… Today I went with the pulled pork sandwich and backed beans which was delicious! frends had the chicken a little small for the money but tasted good. It would be great of they offered some lunch specials.
