Speaking of sauces they’re all legit, but that Smoky Mountain one? That’s the champ right there.
And the Mac n’ Cheese… man, that’s next-level comfort food. Probably the best I’ve had at any BBQ spot, and I’ve been to a lot across the Midwest and South. Creamy, cheesy, and flat-out awesome.
Bonus points for having Hawaiian Punch on tap didn’t see that coming, and I’m here for it.
But what really makes this place stand out is their heart. Mission BBQ backs our military and first responders in a real way, not just talk, they actually support and give back.
Bottom line: great food, great people, great mission.
I’ll 100% be back for more.
UPDATE to my original review:
Heard some murmurs floating around, folks at other restaurants grumbling that Mission BBQ doesn’t serve booze. Let’s clear that up right now.
Mission BBQ is exactly what it’s supposed to be: traditional, family-first barbecue. Down South, the majority BBQ joints don’t sell alcohol. Never have. You come for the food, the respect, and the company, not a bar tab.
The noise about “no booze” is just that, white noise from transplants who think everything needs a beer or a blunt to be enjoyable. Mission BBQ stays on mission. Keep it that way.
I don’t know if it’s just working out some kinks but the dining room was freezing cold tonight.
The service in the dining room was very impressive. Quickly cleaning tables asking if you need anything. She was on it!
The food was delicious!!! We each had the pulled pork sandwich’s. They were huge! Had half of mine home.
The atmosphere was awesome. So cool to see someone of our friends memorialized on the wall.
Overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
All of the employees that I talked to were friendly and smiling! It looked like they were enjoying their work.
The atmosphere was wonderful by the way they support the troops, law-enforcement, and firefighters. I would highly highly recommend this place because they hit all of the points that you’re looking for when you’re going out to eat. The owners/managers of this place should be very proud of this place! I feel like they must take good care of their employees because their work was impeccable!
The amount of sauces to choose from is a nice touch to the experience. Regina was extremely helpful with explaining everything with her little spiel, which made it easy to understand. She definitely represents the restaurant well. Definitely will be back to get the turkey.
