We visited Mission BBQ in Rockford and had an outstanding experience. This was my second time, but the first time bringing my wife and daughter, and it absolutely delivered.
We ordered two beef brisket sandwiches with fries and coleslaw, and everything was spot on—the brisket was juicy, tender, flavorful, and incredibly consistent, just like my first visit. You can tell they take pride in doing it right every single time.
The service was excellent, and I have to give a special shout-out to Janine at the front. She runs a tight ship, is genuinely kind, and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Honestly, I’d come back just to see her—that kind of heart and professionalism is rare.
If I could give six stars, I would. We’ll absolutely be back.

We had such a wonderful experience at this BBQ restaurant! The ribs were absolutely amazing — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can really tell they put care into their food.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Since it was our first time visiting, they even gave us free sandwich vouchers for our next visit, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture.

Was excited until I realized all of my brisket is just fat and my cornbread is cold, no butter no honey. Two lil cups of bbq sauce. ATP I don’t even want to try the beans… worse $21 ever spent…

This was my first time and what can I say? Such incredible service! They treated me like I was their friend! I had the brisket sandwich and it was to die for. So juicy and tender. With a wide variety of bbq sauce to choose from, I kept experimenting while I was eating the sandwich. The smoky Texas flavor, Memphis heat, and other sauces just superb! Mississippi Mud Pie was delicious. I will be coming back again. Thankyou Katie Rose and the staff at Mission BBQ for an unforgettable experience!

Above & beyond food, service & a wonderful atmosphere. We went for a meal, felt welcome by all the friendly staff but we were so pleasantly surprised when invited to stand & sing along while they played the national anthem, a daily ritual at noon. Went in for some late night bbq. Service was AMAZING. We had an allergy and they assured us that everything was separate, as one of their staff had an allergy as well.
Brisket was absolutely amazing. Closest I’ve had to tasting my father’s bbq. Husband got the side salad and I got the seasonal cherry cheesecake as sides. Both were super good.
