I went in for lunch, loved the pro military/law enforcement interior and found a decent menu with a ton of options.
Smelled great, the place is clean and bright and the food was good. Service was friendly.
It was….. good. There are tons of BBQ joints out there and, other than a cool concept, nothing really stood out.

I was really in the mix for a slaw dog and these lovely ladies saited the urge by throwing together a sausage sandwich with a side of slaw and the best Maggie’s Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had, well, the only Maggie’s Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had. Almost wish I would’ve went with dine-in rather than carry out but due to the holiday everything is closing early. The smokey mountain sauce was delicious atop the #41 sausage and completely fulfilled my craving.

Had a great sandwich today at Mission BBQ that reminded me of my youth in North Carolina. We always put the slaw ON our barbecue sandwiches. Tennesseans don’t know what they are missing. It’s the way to go. This place has brisket, pork, chicken and sausage. Order one or get a sampler of them all. There is a selection of country sides to choose your perfect complement to your meal. Then, there is a pack of 6 different sauces on every table from sweet to tangy or fire, something for everyone.

This is my first time here. It left an outstanding impression on me. I have never left a review before, but these kind people gave me a free desert for being in the military. They came back and gave us two more deserts for my mom. The food is some of the best smoked food I’ve ever had. I hate that I’m not from here. I love this place !!!!

This was our first visit to Mission BBQ in Murfreesboro, and it absolutely won’t be our last.
From the moment we walked in, the staff at the counter was welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful, taking the time to explain how the menu works and making us feel comfortable right away. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side, and my wife had the pulled pork entrée with two sides — both were exceptionally good.
What really stood out during our visit was the thoughtful hospitality and attentiveness throughout the meal.
A gentleman named Tom stopped by our table and brought over their fresh-cut French fries for us to try, proudly explaining that they’re made in-house and seasoned just right. They were hot, fresh, and excellent.
As we were finishing up, Eric came by and brought over some bread pudding for us to try as well, encouraging us to experience another favorite. It was fantastic — crisp and sweet on top, warm and creamy underneath, and a perfect way to end the meal.
Everything felt natural and welcoming — just a team that truly enjoys sharing their food and making sure guests have a great experience.
Add in the fact that Mission BBQ proudly supports veterans and first responders, and this is a place that absolutely deserves your support.
We visited around 1:15 PM on December 12, and everything from the food to the service was outstanding. Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended.

We stopped in here one night on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. I always love a good brisket and it was nice to have the option of lean or wet (with fat). The sauce selection is fantastic with sweet, hot, and traditional BBQ styles to choose from. Will definitely be going back to Mission BBQ.

So my husband and I had just gotten back from a family friend’s funeral, and went to mission bbq to get a bite. The young man at the counter to take our order was extremely polite and upbeat, and one of the staff went above and beyond for us! They had no idea where we were coming from, and we were a bit sad of course, so the behavior and customer service was so genuine ..I love eating here, and will continue to do so!! Well done to these two young people!!! And the manager was so nice when I called him to tell him to tell him what a great staff he has!!
