I can’t believe there wasn’t a line out the door at this place. Meat fell off the bone, perfectly tender and crusted. Beans were amazing! Coleslaw, thin shredded, fantastic. Service was amazing. Jamie was a great host, telling us the Mission story and its commitment to veterans and first responders. This is hands down the best barbecue in town!!

I really enjoyed my lunch there. Area is roomy, music is not too loud and the workers are nice. Bathroom was super clean. It’s especially great if you like to make your own portions and not waste food since you can choose your sides and have two or three of them if they’re too small for you. Ribs come by bone too, and I appreciate that they don’t come drenched in sauce (you can choose your own bbq sauce on the table) but are still tender and tasty. price was right at 17$ for two sides, 3 ribs and a free side of cornbread.

First time visit and will go back! Staff was top notch, very helpful and seemed pleased we came in. You order at the front and they call you for your meal. If you have leftovers, they give you all the containers you need along with your choice of BBQ sauces. I really like that the meat comes out with no sauce. Each table has a six pack of various sauces with descriptions. I tried many. I had the meat sampler – two 4oz servings of meats of my choice along with a side and a small piece of cornbread. The pulled chicken is chicken thigh meat and was very tasty. Pulled pork was also very good. My friend and I got a nice surprise while eating. Every day at noon they play the Star Bangled Banner. Everyone stands. Decor is all military, firefighters and police. Awesome place!

Received a couple of coupons for two free sandwiches after visiting Sarasota cars and coffee. It’s a place that I’ve always wanted to visit and finally got the opportunity to do so. Absolutely loved the food, some of the best brisket I’ve had. The staff was fantastic and the service was extremely fast!

Wow ! Great BBQ. Friendly staff and amazing food had the pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw and it was perfect. Also ordered the salmon with big beans and collard greens. For dessert, we split the blueberry cobbler, oh yeah, if you haven’t been here, you need to try it and the smoky mountain bbq sauce.

Decided to go here on a whim, and we’re so glad we did. AMAZING food & service! I can’t think of a time I have ever been treated so well at a restaurant. The dining room server, Jamie, was so sweet and very attentive. We will definitely be back if we’re ever in the area again. Bring one to Cookeville, TN!!!
