We were impressed enough to look up info on them and were surprised to find out that it is a chain! The first one opened on 9/11/11, the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. They recognize and honor the military and first responders. We were there before noon and at noon everyone stood for the national anthem.
So if you love barbecue and America, this is definitely the place to eat.
7 stars and 3 thumbs up.
PS. Gus rocks!
The last time I got a Hawaiian steak and some ribs and it was excellent.
I would recommend it depending on what you’re wanting to get the brisket sandwich meal was definitely not worth $20 to me.
The female hostess was very polite and did a great job!!!
If you love BBQ that is so good it will make you want to smack your mama, and decor that emanates the unwavering fervor of the American spirit, then look no further than Mission BBQ. First off, the young man at the front was incredibly kind and helpful, and gave us top tier service and recommendations! Secondly, they have glass bottle drinks in a cooler for you to choose from as you walk in (can it get more American than that?)!!
Once our plates arrived, the only sounds coming from our table was “Mmmm” and “God bless America!”
The brisket was the best, period. Coming in second place was the pulled pork. The pulled pork was tender and very flavorful. It also paired well with the various BBQ sauces. I personally really enjoyed the Smoky Mountain BBQ sauce; however, if that one doesn’t tickle your fancy, they have 6 flavors to choose from. Lastly, the Mac and cheese was to die for!
The fries were good, and so was the cornbread but they weren’t the stars of this meat sweat showdown!
Overall, I would give Mission BBQ a 10/10! Definitely don’t miss this gem on your next visit!
