Good BBQ for the price.
I came here Sunday evening around 5:30pm for dinner. The restaurant has cool indoor decor and regular table and booth seating. Ordering was at the back of the room, and food came out just 2-3 minutes after ordering. It’s a self serve so I picked up food then pick table I want. They have outdoor tables as well. Restaurant is clean and staffs are friendly. Out of 3 meat I got, pull pork, sausage, brisket, the pull pork was better. Brisket was a bit dry and I had to cut the outside since they all burn and bitter. For the price, it’s decent place if you want quick BBQ meal

This place has great food and service. They salute all service members and 1st responders. Place your order at the counter, get your drink, and your food is ready very quickly. They smoke with oak wood in their smoker. Nice dining room and seating inside. There is a small covered patio outdoors with picnic tables for warm weather. The facility is maintained very well and is clean. Highly recommended!

Military memorabilia decorates this inviting, clean, and friendly BBQ shack. The staff is amazing. Exuding friendly, helpful energy. The food is not disappointing. The meat has been treated with much love and respect. And the sides support in a much nice way. You can even mix your own Arnold Palmer with a choice of sweet or unsweet tea, regular or diet lemonade. Don’t pass this place up. You will only miss out on a memorable plate slammin que. Enjoy!

I was running errands in the area and stopped for lunch on a whim. I’m not joking when I say I had the best customer service, ever. I approached the counter and told the staff this was my first time here. Jay immediately treated me like family and gave me a run down of the menu. I kept it simple by getting a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of mac n cheese. I was about to pull out my wallet to pay but was told it was on the house. They were just excited I was a newbie coming in to try their BBQ. The food came out almost instantly, hot and fresh. The moist brisket was phenomenal, the best I’ve had in Rochester so far. Mac was solid too. Mid way through my meal, Maya checked on me to make sure I was all good. I really enjoyed sampling all 6 (yes, six) sauces. All of them are great, the smoky mountain sauce was my favorite, the Texas twang was a nice nod to my home state.
I nearly skipped this place but I’m so glad I stopped by to meet such nice people and eat great BBQ. I’ve found my BBQ spot in Rochester and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. I come from Texas where people obsess about BBQ…this place is legit!

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 starts I definitely would. If you have never been go go go you WONT be disappointed. Took my youngest son for Valentine’s Day. This was our first visit. You walk up and order off the menu boards like old southern style. Our cashier was so nice even saw my son’s school hoodie and warned us to be safe because the weather our way was going to get bad. Jay (I assume owner/manager) was beyond friendly. Asked where we were from told him it was about a 45 min drive. He told us he definitely wanted us to come back so he gave us coupons for free sandwiches. Then while we were eating came to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Let me tell you the food was FANTASTIC. Good sized portions and the baked beans and the Mac and cheese were mind blowing. The pulled pork was so moist and delicious. My son got the brisket sandwich and couldn’t finish it because it was so big. The restaurant is set up so cool. Feels like a big home like dining room with some of the coolest military decor. We will DEFINITELY be going back! I think this is our new go to dinner out spot.

Review for Mission BBQ – Rochester, New York
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Mission BBQ in Rochester today, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic meal.
The menu offered a delicious variety of smoked meats, and we were impressed by the quality and flavor of everything we tried. The brisket was tender and packed with flavor, while the pulled pork was perfectly seasoned and juicy. We also loved the variety of sides, especially the mac and cheese and the baked beans – they were a hit with the whole family!
The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. It was clear that they take pride in their food and service, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
One of the best parts was the ambiance. The decor pays tribute to our veterans, which we truly appreciated. It’s a great reminder of our heroes while enjoying some great BBQ!
Overall, Mission BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. We can’t wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great barbecue in Rochester!
Thank you, Mission BBQ, for a wonderful dining experience! We’ll definitely be back soon!

I just went here for the first time today to have lunch with a friend and I was honestly blown away by not only the food, but the level of service given.
I walked up to the counter and told them it was my first time here and the woman explained how everything works and what the food menu options were.
I went ahead and ordered the three meat platter option and choose the moist brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken. My friend ordered the brisket sandwich. Each meat portion is about 4oz.
The brisket was very moist and was amazing. As someone who has traveled to places like Austin and Houston, TX, I can say their brisket was almost comparable!
More than that, everyone was genuinely so nice and the waiter when she heard it was my first time there, was even nice enough to give me and my friend a free sandwich card for the next time we come back. We also go to try a free sample of their smoked sirloin and it was amazing!
This place is a hidden gem in Rochester and I will definitely be back again and would encourage others who like BBQ to check this place out as well.

I ordered takeout and was duly surprised to see how quick the order was finished! I ordered the full rack of ribs with a side of fries and the wife had an order of lean brisket and pulled chicken with a side of the Mac n cheese. The ribs were delicious and tender, the meat was done well enough it didn’t need any extra sauce but the sauce(bangy bold )just made them even better! The lean brisket was flavorful but still being juicy enough not to be called dry! Having lived in Texas for years this place definitely made us feel like we were there again! I’ll be stopping here anytime I come through the area again!

Great food! The smoked meat is good as is but they offer -at the table – at least 6 sauces to enhance the meal.
