Stopped into Mission BBQ in Hamilton, NJ for the first time and left genuinely SO SO impressed.
The food was excellent. The moist brisket was tender and flavorful, the pulled pork was spot on, and every sauce we tried was delicious in its own way. But what really stood out was the hospitality. Tamara and Ed were exceptional. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind in a way that feels rare and unrushed.
When they found out it was our first visit, they surprised us with a brownie on the house, which was just as tasty as everything else. Small gesture, big impact.
This is the kind of place you stop for good barbecue and leave remembering the people. Definitely worth a visit for both the food and the hospitality!!!

The only reason I’m giving a 4/5 is because when we went as a family on 2/14 for dinner at 6pm they had run out of French fries. And instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and offering a coupon or discount it was just announced to me when I went to order the fries. Secondly, I ordered the loaded baked potato since the fries weren’t available and was told “this is the last potato for the night”! How can you run out of two staple items on a Saturday evening at dinner.
Aside from this experience, we love it here and find the food to be very good and the customer service great and atmosphere even better! We believe in their mission as well! Thank you for your community support!

Every time I come here, everything is excellent: the staff, the food, the atmosphere! Today was a really hard day at work, but the staff took great care of me! My tray was full of brisket, sausage, & Turkey!! Tamra out front was really helpful, too, packing my leftovers to go,, and helping me with sauces to go, too! The place is awesome! Very high quality. Will always recommend!!

The staff is so friendly and professional from the moment they welcome you when walk in the door. I have Celiac Disease so not only do I need gluten free options but need to be concerned about cross contamination (how amd where they prep/cook the food). They are on their game here as far as the level of knowledge and care they take with food prep.

100/100 every time! I always get their lean brisket with Maggie’s Mac n cheese. Their lemonade is delicious and sauces fantastic. I recommend smoky mountain and hot honey if you like a kick. The best part is their ‘mission’ that they stand for. Delicious food and great values.

I would love to say this is 5.0 stars with my experience. Matt was very generous of doing us a favor. We bought a moist brisket sandwich, which my partner was fine with but it did have more fat than meat and at the time of ordering we did not know what the difference of lean and moist was. He came around our table and asked if everything was good and we said yes not until my partner gave a “fine” Matt knew what he had to do and was super nice on fixing his meal, very kind, and we were satisfied at first but very satisfied at the end. Big thank you to Matt. As well the sausage jalapeno & cheese is my go to now. Please let me know if I can get catering size on it !!

My first time here, and I must say that it was absolutely phenomenal! It started with the excellent, friendly, and welcoming staff.
I feel terrible for not remembering the name of the cashier, but he was so nice and actually stepped aside to help explain what they are about, how they operate, and explain the different food options. I have never had someone willing to do that anywhere else.
My wife and I ended up sharing their 3 meat sampler that we upgraded to the XXL combo. For meats, we got their moist brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. All of it was some of the best BBQ meats we have ever eaten. They were so good, they can be eaten with no sauce. The cornbread that comes with it was also incredible. It wasn’t dry or too sweet. The kind of cornbread I wish I could make at home.
For sides, we chose their coleslaw and season cheesy potatoes. The coleslaw was perfect. Exactly how you expect a coleslaw. It was still crisp, not too wet, and not too sweet. The potatoes were exactly what you would expect. Not too mushy and the right amount of cheese.
Some might have issue with the price. It is a little more on the expensive side. But this is one of those places where it is not only worth it, but justified. The amount they have given back over their 14 years is immense, and should put larger businesses to shame.
We will definitely be back. The experience and food were so good, that if my family ever comes back up north to Jersey, I will definitely be taking them here to try it out.

I really like this place. Food is good. Atmosphere good. They just constantly forget things in my order. Which is crazy considering I do mobile orders. Not sure whats so hard about reading a ticket.
