Got the Maryland Omelette (favorite of HOF Raven Jonathan Ogden :)). It says it has jumbo lump crab meat, white cheddar cheese and tomato. It’s also sprinkled well with Old Bay seasoning.
This omelette is big and it’s STUFFED with the crab meat. Definitely one of the best omelette’s I’ve ever had. Pork sausage on the side, and the coffee was good too. Service was excellent. Love this place.
Although the food is “airport priced,” it definitely didn’t disappoint!
I was seated fairly promptly by a polite young man – at a dirty table. It took a while before the waitress came by so by the time she did I was ready to order, which seemed to take her by surprise that I wanted to order more than just a beverage right away. I asked for coffee with cream because there was no cream on the table & a Cy Young omelet.
She brought the coffee fairly quickly & 2 little containers of half & half. The food was delivered by someone else and I only saw the waitress again as she passed by while taking care of other customers. I never got a warm-up on my coffee (the menu says complimentary refills are included in the price) or was even asked if the food tasted alright. It sure would have been nice to have more coffee or even a glass of water to wash down the dry, gritty, undercooked grits. The omelet and pimento cheese biscuit were both good, but nothing real special.
For the record, it was pretty slow when I was seated, the restaurant was by no means packed to the point that tables couldn’t have been wiped clean or someone couldn’t have come around with hot coffee for refills. This is an airport, for goodness’ sake, people shouldn’t have to wait and wait and wait to get their check, either.
The sad part is that the service itself was wonderful. Our waitress was great—attentive, kind, and doing everything right. She deserved better leadership backing her up.
Unfortunately, one manager’s complete lack of common sense overshadowed the good service. Shame on him. I won’t be coming back.
