I went to Miss Ks about 4 years ago and got takeout. The food was good, not great but the service was atrocious. Rude is an understatement. I did not post a review at that time, everyone can have a bad day. I returned recently to spend a gift certificate. I bought an entire coconut cream pie. It was average, again not great. Everyone has a different opinion on great food, my only reason for posting is again the rude customer service. As I suspected my first visit it was Miss K herself. Again everyone had a different definition of rude customer service. There are many great reviews on Google for her bistro, but I for one do not need to return for such ridiculously poor customer service from the owner herself. I have been a winter Texan for 14 years and not once written a poor review for customer service. We love the island and the excellent help that are employed here.

I’m working on the island now and because of how busy we are, I’ve been eating a lot of fast food and sick of it and I forgot my lunch at home. I was craving the taste of a home cooked lunch, (definitely not my cooking) so I looked up “sandwich shop close to me”. I gave it a try and really liked it! (BLT with avocado) it was nice and quiet and super clean. I’ll definitely eat again, and now that I know they serve Chinese food on Wednesday, I’ll definitely eat there again.

A gem somewhat hidden away in a strip shopping center on Hwy 361. The BLAT, Crab & Shrimp Melt sandwiches are highly recommended, along with any of the fresh made sides. The potato salad was as good as I’ve had in a while. Watch for daily specials on FB along with different quiches posted on the blackboard. On my last trip they had Key Lime Pie with fresh strawberry topping. Friendly service and ample portions. It’s across from the Sonic and Dollar General, look for the water tower and you are getting ‘warm’. Open until 4 pm, except Saturday when they close at 3. Closed on Sundays. Give Miss K a try and support a local business.

Small local deli style eatery with homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. Very busy at lunch, no table service no credit cards BUT best curry chicken salad ever!

Miss K’s Kitchen is a true local favorite in Port Aransas. The soup alone is worth stopping for—warm, comforting, and always made with care. It’s the kind you crave on a breezy island day.
Don’t skip the desserts, and definitely check out the oven-ready meals—perfect for busy days or when you want something homemade without the work. Consistently good, welcoming, and reliable… all the reasons locals keep coming back.
If you know, you know.

We returned for a second time to this small but classy restaurant for lunch while on one of our twice yearly trips to the coast. Sometimes the food has changed at some restaurants, and most of the time, not for the better.
But the food here was just as good as it was on our first visit. The service was also still superb.
I had the chicken salad sandwich and loved it. My husband had the Gen Tso’s chicken and said it was very good.
It’s just a great place to grab a quick lunch and then head back to the beach!!

Stopped in for a late lunch. The food was delicious! I had the tuna salad and my husband had the shrimp salad. So nicely seasoned. Broccoli salad was great. We shared a piece of key lime pie which was perfectly tart. Yummy!

Amazing sandwich shop on the island, they also have soups and salads. Pretty much all of the cold sandwiches can be made a wrap as well. Small seating area but can order take out. Pay before food and they don’t take cards, only cash, check, or venmo. I had the crab & shrimp melt and it was to die for. My grandpa who came with us lactose intolerant and got the BLT subbing in mayo for the sauce, equally delicious he tells me. Pics included

We enjoyed the daily special chicken pot Pie and Turkey Ruben both with fresh fruit. Both were large portions. The Ruben was perfection, sandwich bread had to be made in-house, too fresh for other sources, was buttered, Swiss cheese was melted to the point of a nice ooze, the sour kraut was not overpowering and russian dressing was present as a hint. Pot pie was creamy with the right amount of chicken. Fresh fruit consisted of pineapple, grapes, honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon. All fruit pieces were large. We enjoyed Miss K’s and will be returning soon.
