I’m a fan of Asian food , and stopped in. I ordered a dish and and a roll.. I was never asked if I wanted a drink, just served water. So I waited.10 minutes later my order was taken. 1/2 hour later my dish arrived, but no maki roll.. 10 minutes later the roll arrived and I quickly asked for it to be packaged for take out.
This isn’t a place of business anymore for a semi quick meal for one.
Server was lovely, just this is a miss this last time.

A welcoming place with so many delicious choices on the menu. I had the special: pork belly & kimchi bipbimbap. So flavorful! It was served in a stone bowl which kept it hot and created a layer of exquisitely crunchy rice at the bottom. It’s a generous portion so I get to enjoy it again tomorrow too!

We ordered takeout so I can’t truly speak to the service and atmosphere, but the food was average. The shrimp pad Thai had good flavor but was disappointing overall because there were only 4 shrimp in the entire order and no vegetables. Don’t think I’ll go back.

Misono is a Japanese restaurant located right off of VFW Parkway in Brookline, I’ve been coming here ever since I was a small child and have experienced many things.
One thing that stands out is the presence of a koi pond within the restaurant, which brings a big deal to the atmosphere. Service is also friendly and able to remake orders if needed, though the staff are very knowledgeable and don’t tend to mess up orders.
The food however, can be hit or miss. They specialize in Japanese, but do have Korean options as well. I’ve tried many things, such as the sushi, bibimbap, kimchi stew, spicy udon, and many more. I liked the spicy udon and tonkatsu from here, as well as the sushi. Prices are on the more expensive side though, but the quality is pretty good. What I didn’t like are some of the specials, like the Hwe Dup Bab, which just didn’t taste right even though its chilled fish. Most other dishes are average good, not outstanding but not bad either.
Misono is a nice restaurant to go to while in the area.

A cozy well designed Japanese restaurant, good food quality. They have happy hour until 3pm except on Sundays. They have sushi and sashimi which comes with miso soup as well as Korean dishes such as Bibimbab. I will for sure go back.

Wonderful sushi and Pad Thai lunch. Everything was fresh, and requesting medium spicy gave the Pad Thai the perfect amount of heat. Wonderful service and easy parking.

Very popular neighborhood Japanese restaurant in Chestnut Hill. Lots of different sushi. We ordered the City Combo which came with miso soup. And the Mama Miso Roll. Both delicious and would order again. Nice ambience. Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely will return.

Me and my family have been coming to this amazing restaurant for 20+ years and we love the staff and the owners and the food. Kenny and his staff really are amazing and they know us when we come in so it’s really a relaxing and welcoming restaurant that everyone who enjoys good food should go to and even try if you have never tried. I love the way they treat the customers and how they really help when you are wanting to try something new. It’s a place I would give a 10/10.

Enjoyed the 갈비 비빔밥 (Galbi Bibimbap) which is essentially marinated beef short rib in a mixture of white rice and fresh vegetables and a fried egg. It was delicious and an enjoyable experience watching the food cook in the hot bowl right in front of me. The rice at the bottom crisped up and gave the dish that extra crunch I was not expecting. It was a pleasant surprise and I’d come again.

Customer service was nice, had to wait a bit when I went to pick-up the food. It was jammed packed with takeout orders and seemed a bit overwhelmed with balancing tasks.
Ordered the chicken curry, Kimchi pancakes, beef Japche, and chicken Pad Tai. All were mediocre, but the pancakes were burnt and seemed “wimpy”. Hoping the lack of expectations for the food was caused by the rushed hurriedness?
