Pretry mediocre food. The potatoes were crispy on the outside but stale inside. Some were warm but most were cold. The eggs benedict you can clearly see was overcooked. It should be runny. The meal was flavorless. 2 stars for the fresh orange juice at least. I appreciate the desire to support small business but i dont thinn we should blindly praise everything.

Was driving on the 95 from new york to cape cod and was looking for a late breakfast, good old google came up with Mirsina’s. It was only 5 minutes off the highway, plenty of free parking out front. I had the steak omelette with toast and coffee, i just managed to finish it, loads of food. Staff very friendly and a not expensive

My husband and I were treated like poo on the bottom of one’s shoe here yesterday. We walked in and were delighted to see there were several empty tables, as this place is usually quite busy. A bus boy, who didn’t even greet us or make eye contact for that matter, just said “Any table. Any table.” As we are about to sit down, the lady who I assume is the owner as she is always at the register when we go in, stops us in our tracks: “Can I help you? EXCUSE ME, can I help you?”

Her tone was unacceptable, never mind the fact she was giving another customer his change while yelling across the restaurant at us for everyone else to hear. We explained to her that we were told to pick any table, and she responded “I understand, but I have a list.” Needless to say, there was no one else waiting for a table but us, unless she meant to say she had reservations. At any rate, we stood around for an uncomfortable while until she decided we could sit at the table we were originally going to sit at. My husband said, “This is where you told us not to sit.” Her response – a very curt, “Yeah, I know.” A quick glance at each other, and my husband and I walked out. As we got to our truck, another customer who had just left said to us, “Wow, she was very rude wasn’t she?”

Mirsina – we may not be local regulars, but we would stop in at least once a month anytime we visited my parents in Old Saybrook. My husband loved your gyros and I always enjoyed my meal, but you left a very bad taste in our mouths this time. I’m sure other patrons who witnessed this yesterday were also unimpressed. Please consider treating people with respect. Shame.

What a pleasurable experience we had here. We stopped in here without checking the ratings as it smelled so good driving by. We had the Irish Eggs Benedict and Philly steak omelet. The corned beef hash was homemade and the home fries were crispy like we asked for. Recommend anyone in the area to go here for some great food.

We have eaten here many times and like to support this family run business. We enjoy their breakfasts and the service is always good. This morning I had eggs, bacon and home fries, which were delicious. In the past the home fries have not been the best and usually come out lukewarm. This morning they were delicious, crispy and hot. The bacon was cooked just right and crispy. My husband always enjoys their egg sandwiches. I wish they made their own corned beef hash rather than the pre made stuff, which is not so good.

Mirsina’s is a solid choice for a good breakfast or lunch when passing through town.
The staff are friendly and attentive to regulars as well as visitors.
The menu includes many typical options for breakfast as well as sandwiches and salads for lunch.
We tried their fresh breads and bagels, delicious Greek yogurt, eggs and sausage, and oatmeal.
If you are looking for something more than typical coffee shop fare, you’ll be happy with Mirsina’s many options, friendly service, and good food.

I should have known better after seeing the Dunkin’ Donuts in Old Saybrook with a 4.2 rating and Mirsina’s with a 4.7 rating. How a fast food restaurant serving mass produced junk can rate that high doesn’t reflect positively on the legitimacy of other restaurant reviews. Had high hopes for Mirsina’s based on the ratings but left feeling like it is average at best = 2.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered 3 omelets, two vegetarian and one with meat, which were bland, home fries were among the worst we had and didn’t eat them, and the whole wheat toast tasted store brand. Thankfully there was ground pepper and sirrachia sauce to add flavor. We also ordered the Hungry Man, an egg sandwich on a bagel and two side orders of pancakes… for a party of 5. The stars are for the pancakes, blueberry and Oreo, which made up for the rest of the food, fluffy and tasty. Had we not ordered pancakes the rating would have been 2 stars. Another downside though is no real maple syrup, just the mass produced high fructose syrup variety in the commercial single serving tubs. The bill without tax was just under $70 which is reasonable for the amount of food ordered. Given our experience with the food this is a one and done for us. It is also a warning that google ratings are not always accurate.
