Most excellent French food in Tahoe – yes, even frog legs. Excellent service, good advice on wines [good match at not-so-scary price!] and superb experience overall. And, yes, great desserts too: I had a chocolate currant bread pudding – awesome!

Customer service not the best, we had a reservation and even so we were made to wait 20 min until we got seated while we had an inpatient toddler with us. Food was ok, not the best french cuisine we’ve ever had (but again, it’s hard to top anything food-wise outside of Portland, OR) and the wait time until the was out pretty long as well. The place looks very blend, quite a whole-in-the-wall actually while the prices are for a high-class restaurant.

We’d been at this restaurant many times and dinner was always by the menu. This year we reserved through opentable and there was no info about a fixed menu or the price of such menu. When we arrived they served us one oyster and one small crouton with imitation of caviar. And were told that dinner was a fixed menu paired with sparkling wines and was $225 pp plus an obligatory 20% gratuity.
We have been to some of the best restaurants in Paris or London where we have paid similar bills but for far superior meals. Dinner was nothing special, portions where ridiculously small and we ended paying over $3400 for a very mediocre dinner.
My main complaint is that we were not given this information when we reserved. It was not in opentable and not on the website so we felt completely ripped off and would have been happy to pay it if the meal had been excellent, if we had received premium champagne instead of regular sparkling wines and the meal portions had been sufficient.
Cannot recommend this place at all as I will not be coming back.

New owners, but the food is still one the best in South Lake Tahoe.
I love Chef owned restaurants . I have been going here for 8 years. I own a house in SLT and have consider myself a foodie. I have eaten at all most every good restaurant in SLT. These guys are doing a great job.
