We had a wonderful dinner at Minty’s last night, our first time there. When we made the reservation, Theresa, the owner could not have been friendlier! When we walked in all the staff made us feel welcome and happy to be there. We asked to meet Theresa and she came out personally and was so friendly. We were seated and the server came and lit candles at our table. The atmosphere is very homey and also romantic with fairy lights on the wall. Servers were great at guiding us to find our menu items as we had so many different things we would have liked to try. We both elected different versions of fried chicken, one smothered with mushroom gravy. Both were delicious, very well seasoned and crispy. Skillet brownie with ice cream was such a nice presentation too. We chatted with the owner again and felt like old friends by the time we left. We can’t wait to return. We really enjoyed also the dish names all honoring Harriet Tubman whose nickname was Minty.

An absolutely darling place! Felt the love immediately upon entering and greeted by Teresa. So many wonderful food choices! I ordered the Underground Railroad fish and grits, it was amazing. My husband ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and a side of Mac n cheese. He loved them both! Good size portions enough for us to enjoy again at home. Unfortunately no room for dessert. Highly recommend!

For only being open 1 week, I see a future for this black owned business. Being named after one of our greatest sheros! Food was excellent.

Don’t miss out on this neighborhood gem! Menu options are absolutely delicious with generous portions. The chicken & waffles and jerk chicken were perfection. This is the first time in a long time that we felt we were getting what we paid for. You can tell everything was made with love and passion. Owner and waitstaff were so friendly and attentive. We didn’t “need” the brownie skillet but we’re glad we didn’t pass it up.

We were visiting Cambridge and ate at Minty’s. The food was outstanding. I had the pork chops, my sister had shrimp and grits, and another sister had the fried chicken. None of us were disappointed. We almost went back later that night, lol. We went on Thursday and left town Friday morning. They should be open all week! We would have eaten there every day!

Delicious fish sandwich had plenty of lightly bread, fried fish with lettuce & a thousand island-type sauce on a bun with plenty of fries on the side. There was extra dressing & ketchup in containers on the side. My husband had hot dogs with bakes beans; he tried twice to push the plate away because he was full but he pulled it back to eat more because he enjoyed it too much, until he finished. The dinner menu also looks good so we plan to be back! Everyone was very friendly!

We loved this place. My wife and I took her parents for lunch on Saturday. What a treat. First, the owner (and head chef) was so delightful, as was our server. We felt very welcomed. Then, the food was terrific. Two of us had great salads, my wife enjoyed an excellent burger, and my father in law had a cheese steak. The chili also smelled great but wasn’t quite ready as we showed up very early. Definitely worth a visit if you like southern cooking.

Try the Fish & Grits meal. BEST grits I’ve ever had. These are not your average box-made or Waffle House sticky clumpy grits. The fried breaded fish was also cooked perfectly. Shrimp and grits would also be a good idea for the menu too. Can’t wait to try other things here. Diamond in the rough type restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch at Minty’s. So welcoming. Beautiful place. When the food came, pleasantly surprised. Jerk chicken on rice with plantain was popping with flavor. You could tell effort and love went into it. Oh so good.

This is a nice place. After I entered an older gentleman greeted me. What was not nice was the rude waitress. I asked her for a cup of coffee and she shared rudely, ” we don’t have coffee” then, never having eaten there I asked her for a menu, to which she had an attitude when she shared ” we don’t have a menu” and pointed to a board. I decided to leave. I really wanted to try their food, but nobody needs this.
