We found this place while looking for a steak dinner. My wife and I thought it would be fun to go cook our own steaks and eat it there. I was impressed at the steak selections the quality looked pretty good. I selected our steaks and proceeded to the shared grill. There were a couple other guys already cooking their steak and I just grabbed a spot on the grill to start cooking mine. They have all kinds of seasonings and some au jus to brush on your meat. The grill is heated by some hot charcoal with different temperature spots. The charcoal was nice since it added a good flavor to the meat. Cooking was fun and they provided all the tools and stuff you need to prepare your meal. I had fun talking with and taking videos with other patrons. My wife really likes the salad bar. They have a variety of toppings and she kept on talking about it that night. I think she could have just eaten salad that night. We got jalapeño poppers that were almost all hobbled up before I could get a picture. Very tasty and not spicy at all. You get to make your Owen Texas toast too. That’s harder than you think. This place is unique and that’s why we chose it. Being the oldest building in use in summit county, the atmosphere is obviously not new and fresh, but that’s not what it’s all about. I love the home-y feeling. Our server was very nice and attentive. This visit was for the experience. We took our two 9 year olds to eat and they loved that they got to cook their own steak on the grill, one of them had shrimp skewers. We all cooked, shared appetizers and it comes with the salad bar! Plenty of food so don’t over order! We are glad we chose this place! Thank you!

This place is unique where you grill your own steak or seafood. I would say the quality of the steak was mid tier. Also I would expect some better food safety standards. The grill was not clean so my steak tasted like the seasoning of previous guests.
Also the communal tongs were kinda gross.
I would say this place is great for the nostalgia and novelty but I am not sure I would return.

What a fantastic experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, the service was attentive without and the food was outstanding. The steaks were cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and clearly high quality. Every bite was delicious. You can tell they take pride in what they do here. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just treating yourself to a great meal, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back!

So glad I decided to try this place. It has a really cool atmosphere and if you even remotely know how to cook a steak you are gonna be impressed. The steaks are so high quality they would be good no matter how bad you cooked them. It’s a really fun and unique experience. Brad was an awesome server and was spot on with his recommendations. A beautiful historic restaurant that is similar to U. R. Cooks if anyone remembers those. They have a small all-you-can-eat salad bar that comes with your steak or other meat options. You go up to the butcher and pick your own steak. They provide seasonings and marinades, and you grill your own dinner at a large grill. Don’t forget to make some Texas toast garlic bread (also all-you-can-eat) on the grill. The results may vary based on your grilling skills. It’s a great family activity and a fun experience for all. There is a large variety of steaks and different types and sizes of meat, and the prices are very reasonable for being in the mountains of Colorado.

The entire staff was so warm and welcoming — every single person said “have a great night” when we left, and we felt like VIPs walking a red carpet of kindness. And Jay, our server? An absolute gem. Hilarious, kind, and hands down the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve had some good ones)!
We were celebrating our son Jacob’s 15th birthday, and they made it so special — brought him out free ice cream with a candle and everything. Cue the proud mom tears.
The best part? You get to cook your own steak! It was such a fun and interactive experience — part dinner, part family bonding, and part primal grill-master moment. Every single one of us said it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Jacob — who has been to some seriously fancy steakhouses around the world — declared it the best steak he’s ever had. Period.

Cheap, terrible quality steaks. Insanely poor service, gratuity was fully included even though you make the salad, season and cook the steak, and the one thing they had to do was bring sides and they came way late.
I’ve seen these types of steakhouses (cook your own) done right, but this was the equivalent experience of ordering a rare steak and having it come out well done – not good.
