The tandoori chicken at Mint Masala is juicy and oozing with unctuous finger licking flavor. This chicken is freshly made which takes time but it is worth the wait. On Thursday evening, Natalya had invited me to have dinner with her at Mint Masala. This was her favorite Indian restaurant. Had she been to many I asked? Apparently years ago she used to frequent restaurants on East 6th Street which in my opinion was not authentic Indian cuisine. While waiting, I ordered papad which came with hari (green) and tamarind chutneys. Natalya arrived and exclaimed that she had never eaten papad. She liked it. She always orders the same dish of Navratan Korma, a vegetarian curry with mixed vegetables ($18.99). Natalya asked for potatoes and peas. Tandoori chicken and garlic naan were my choices. The food came and the platter of half tandoori chicken looked stunning. The naan was equally delicious. Plain white rice is given with every entrée. Natalya had never eaten a garlic naan, took one and exclaimed that it was scrumptious. She ordered it and proceeded to eat the four triangles in one go! I ate half of the chicken and took the rest home. We enjoyed our dinner. Jamtsho known as James in the restaurant looked after us well. Initially I was hesitant about the cuisine as Mint Masala has a grade pending rating. However the tandoori chicken was so delicious that I plan on returning. There is a restroom in the back down some stairs. This is a small space and at first there were no Indians eye and ten some students came. The lamb korma was a favorite order.

Mint Masala offered excellent service, and even better food! It was my first time visiting NYC, and I was impressed with their quality of food. Their Butter Chicken was amazing, would definitely recommend!

I have had my fair share of tikka masala and biryani. To date, their version is one of the richest in flavor profile. The vegetable pakora is filling by itself. As for service, it is superb as our server was very attentive. He brought us sauces without us asking and our water was always full. The bathroom is all the way inside the kitchen. As you walk, the chefs in the back were so courteous.

I recommend paying a visit for some great indian food in the area.

Cute, yummy, and cozy! Mint Masala is one of my regular go-to restaurants in the area. The different curries are creamy and delicious, and they can adjust the level of spiciness to your needs. Their vegetable samosas are great and their lentil soup is perfect for a winter day. They have a vegetarian section and other options that can be made vegetarian. It’s a small spot, so I recommend checking in before heading there!

I discovered this restaurant two years ago, and it is one of my favorite spots to share with those close to me. They give a good amount of food, for what I believe is a fair price here in the city. One entree could be your lunch and dinner, for the next day lol. In terms of flavor, I haven’t had a bad experience, I am accustomed to well seasoned dishes, and they meet the mark for me! Some plates are a bit on the spicier side, but if you don’t mind spice, You’ll be alright. I recently placed an order from the shop directly for a birthday dinner, and all my guests enjoyed the food. They kept asking me where the food was from and even making comments such as “this food is better than the restaurant by my home.” I recommend this restaurant 🙂

Great experience we had James our server was very attentive and very kind throughout our experience.

The food was tasty we had some of the barbecue chicken which came with separate white rice which was very good. Pro tip ask for some hot chutney on the side. The chicken biryani was very flavorful. The garlic naan and paratha were great as well.

Special thanks to James for making our evening unforgettable.

I don’t know who the host was, but he was AMAZING. He hooked us up with some complimentary dishes and the food was very good too. When I come back to Manhattan, I’m definitely coming back.

A cosy restaurant, with great Indian food. Try thr aloo tiki chaat, you get one piece but it is crisp, warm, and surrounded with Chana (which for some reason were cold). The chicken saag and palak paneer were delicious, and enough to share with others. The vegetable biryani was with overcooked rice, and very mild flavors so you should skip it. The Naan were warm and soft, must order. Service is excellent.
