Mint is one of the best places on West Franklin street for Indian cuisine. We have been here before on several occasions both during a weekday or during weekend for buffet and ‘Mint’ maintains a good standards when it comes to the quality of food they serve. Weekend buffets are more special with on the spot ‘hot kadai’ for samosa chats or similar dishes and free champagne.
Last but not least, the manager is AWESOME and he accommodates your requests; my wife doesn’t eat meat certain days of the week and she felt like there were not many vegetarian ‘curry/ saucey dish’ options for her on the buffet that day and the manager accommodated her by making a paneer dish for her. So nice of him… and we like it a lot for the ambience as well. We recommend this place for friends and family who would like to have a good Indian food on West Franklin or a place to go to from UNC.

Honestly, the food was flavorful and tasty, but I can’t really give this place a better rating. Sadly, the slow, inattentive service significantly outweighed the food. Considering there are many delicious Indian restaurants to choose from in the triangle, I would have expected this place to be worthy of the price and location.

Very delicious food, and unlimited mimosas and food is a great deal for the price! All the dishes were delicious, and there was a large variety of options. We had a large party and they were very accommodating! Would recommend as a fun brunch!

Their goat Curry is perfect. The chefs special vegetables are delicious. So is the rice pudding.

I visited this lovely Indian restaurant for lunch with my workmates. The first aspect of the restaurant that i noticed was the buffet style layout. I was surprised that the decor (warm and comfortable) was accompanied by buffet style Indian cuisine. I am normally against buffet style so that is why I subtracted the one star. Other than that, the food was excellent. Being an Indian style restaurant they had great vegan options as well. Service was good and the staff was very nice. I asked one member of the kitchen, how he prepared one of their recipes and to my surprised he told me a lot. I was able to take out a large portion of food for me and my wife as well and she also loved their food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Chapel Hill area.

Got there at 2:00 on Sunday and had the buffet, which was $15. The food quality was average at best and there were not many items. Half of the items were running out. They had memosa drinks (using Sunny-D orange drink marked as orange juice and cheap champagne) – not sure how that fits with Indian cuisine. The service was good. Definitely not worth $15. Would not go again.

So many improvements for Mint 2019. Great lunch option which offers quick service with strong selection of the classics. Over the past six months the buffet has gotten fresher with many classic vegetarian options- hats off to the new chef and or management. The pakora option changes daily which is a treat! If you are into chicken expect at least four dishes to select from. my favorite are the daily chutney varieties. The mint and onion are made in house. Price is cheap for so much selection. I will say that the atmosphere is not ready for formal dinner- there are lots of boxes, overflow storage and general clutter all around the bar area. Franklin is really lucky to have Mint Indian Cuisine!

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Growing up in a similar household, I’ve been exposed to these flavors my entire life, and no place can match the taste of Mint. Their dishes are always fresh, flavorful, and unique, and they provide great service as well. You can eat here in a restaurant style or buffet style, and both come with several options so you never miss out. The food in the buffet always tastes freshly made, and is warm, so it’s not just leftovers from the night before. The atmosphere is very quaint and I love the Hindi music ringing through the speakers. Eating at Mint is an experience, and a pleasure. Definitely recommend.
