Doughnut review. Visited on a cold Tuesday morning, late-October and off-season. First, this is in a semi-residential area of AC, on the corner. It is a small, old bakery with no-frills. It was not crowded and had one cashier/server. The server was slightly hostile (which is usually what you’d expect in S. Jersey, however the hostility lacked any ‘jersey-style charm’). Responding to “what do you want?” I said I was going to get a small box of pastries, maybe 4. She retorted: I don’t have a box for 4 only 6. Whatever! I agreed to 6 pastries and a box. She also cautioned me that they were all different prices. Again – whatever! I chose: chocolate frosted ring, coffee roll, sugared-jelly, sugared ring, cheese danish, and apple fritter. Cost was $12 and change. I had almost no hope of these being good but I was still ready to try them all. First impression on the chocolate ring was poor because the frosting cracked and crumbled off when I cut it in half. However, the fluffy interior of the doughnut was perfect. The chocolate, while slightly dry and prone to break off, had a perfect flavor to complement a well cooked doughnut. Moving to the coffee roll – it was nice and soft to cut into and the center pieces were fresh and spongy. The most outer ring was just slightly hard, but still perfect in taste. The sugared-jelly was quite fat, but had a great ratio of doughnut to jelly. Very tasty and the jelly was the perfect consistency and taste. The sugared ring was my least favorite. It tasted slighly oily/possibly over cooked, but still had a great rise and fluffy interior. The cheese danish was exceptional. Many times the cheese is too sweet, over-whipped, or under-baked. This cheese was honestly just right: not too sweet and baked all the way through, without drying out the danish. The apple fritter was good not great. The dough was very nice and it was cooked well, but lacked apples – only two small pieces by my judgement. It still tasted very good, but may disappoint an apple fritter connoisseur. I would recommend Minos bakery – especially for off-season doughnuts in the area. The options are quite limited once the summer shops close down. If you like Chester’s in Somers Point, you’d also like Minos and you may even prefer Minos doughnuts to Chester’s. They are both great.

Lady behind counter didn’t smile once. Apathetic. No one else in shop at 730am. $13 for 6 baked goods. Everything tasted like it was 1-2 days old. Disappointed. One and done. You can do better on customer service friendliness and delivering a fresh product.

I’ve been going to Minos for years now and I just had the worst experience today at the Atlantic City location. The lady was incredibly rude, talked to me as if I was dirty. I was being very polite even though she was hostile. She got more and more aggressive and it got to a point where I said I’m sorry you’re being incredibly rude and walked out. So disappointed!

This bakery at either of their locations are what bakeries used to be.

It’s dirty, the food sometimes is stale. The cookies are way smaller than they used to be, and the prices went too much to justify it. Also, my friend who worked for the board of health in the city said to stay sway. It’s dirty and they found roaches in the back. So, it’s a hard pass. I’ll never go back. Sorry

The food is delicious BUT the bakery clerk yesterday (22June) was incredibly rude and impatient, making the experience quite unpleasant. She’s not good for your business.

I always love their cakes. Usually go there for family birthdays. Their baked goods are very tasty. And they offer a lovely range of cakes, pies, cookies, pastries.

The staff is as friendly and as helpful as can be. If you have an attitude when you walk in, do you expect more from the bakery staff than you are behaving? Wish people wouldn’t be so hard on retail establishments. They are trying as hard to survive as you are as a customer.

I loved the cake I got for my granddaughter for her baptism and all guest attending loved it. However the woman who took my order don’t know her name but she definitely needs to work on her custom service skills. When I changed my my mind about something she was rude and abrupt..

I went in and picked up a 7inch strawberry shortcake for 28 dollars, just to get it home and open to see 3 slices of very small strawberries on the outside and none on the inside when I cut into it.

Went early because it’s Christmas eve and WOW the selections were amazing! I needed dessert for the Christmas dinner I am traveling on the train to. The 2 girls behind the cases were great. They boxed up cheese cake slices and 24 assorted cake bites perfectly to fit in refrigerator till tomorrow. It is also stacked to fit in carry bag on the train. I am excited to share Atlantic City’s best bakery with family in Ambler Pa.
