I saw this on check Please Bay Area. Fried Chicken was very good. Cornbread was great, but I won’t get the hot honey butter again. It was okay. The candy jams just got better as I kept eating them. The mac and cheese balls were out of this world. So nice and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The caramel cake was absolutely delicious.

Hot honey chicken wings were my favorite. There were very crispy and came out steaming. There were not that spicy but sill succulent. Chicken breast were small but still cooked to perfection. Everyone raves about their cornbread and I thought I was decent. Yams I wish had more flavor and were more moist as it was my least favorite dish. Over all the service was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the music playing in the background. Will definitely make another visit.

I can not say enough about this place. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I shared a 4 piece plate of fried chicken, it came with 2 sides and 2 slices of cornbread. It was plenty of food for us to share. The staff was friendly and the environment was jazzy but not over the top.

10/10 in my book! And I hate to admit that I’m a picky girl. I’m a foodie. Servers are super friendly, vibes are nice with pleasant music in the background that’s not too loud. And the food was delicious!
We got:
Mango Habanero wings (one of their specials of the day)
The wings were juicy and the sauce was amazing! Pretty sure they blended actual mango because the mango taste was there. I like spice, so I would say the sauce wasn’t spicy at all, and the mango was the more dominant flavor. But it was really good 🙂
4 piece chicken meal with Mac and cheese and potato salad as our sides. The Mac and cheese was nice and cheesy. It gave classic Mac and cheese. I also think they broil the Mac and cheese with a layer of cheese on the top and then mix it into the Mac and cheese after, because I was getting bits of broiled cheese even on the deeper layers of the cup. Which was great. The potato salad had perfect seasoning and was also just really yummy. The chicken pieces were decently sized and I could taste the hint of rosemary on them. Very crunchy.
We also ordered a side of hot honey sauce, which we added to the chicken and the cornbread (as recommend by our server) and I did enjoy it! I did think it paired better with the cornbread. The cornbread was also yummy and crumbly. I personally like my cornbread a bit more moist, but the flavor was really nice, and the hot honey helped give it some of that moisture!
Overall, I would 100% come here again! Thinking of bringing some friends to try this place 🙂

Very cool, smaller restaurant that was super welcoming and warm. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the city.

If you come here make sure to get the cornbread. The cornbread was delicious, slightly sweet with a great corn mix. We also got the fried fish with yams and the fried chicken with mac and cheese. The fish was good but definitely needs the tartar sauce to not be too dry. The yams are exactly what you expect from southern yams (sugar water boiled). The fried chicken was ok the meat was tasty but the skin tasted like dirt, I’m not a fan of pulling off the skin of fried chicken but this is what I would recommend here. The mac and cheese is basic mac and cheese nothing great nothing bad.
This got 5 stars purely for the cornbread.

Small intimate spot. Very friendly staff fast service and ordering wasn’t an issue an as soon as you place your order it goes in so foods coming out very very timely manner! S/O to ochoCinco we came because of his mention on nightcap! Great recommendation it was very very good! The gentleman with the Dreeds lightskin brother was fantastic a the Spanish server as well everyone solid! I’ll be back!

First of all I had the best server in history . I can’t remember her name but she had shorter hair . I’d come back based on her personality and warming personality alone. Then the food came and it just got better chicken , greens and Mac 10/10. Only thing I didn’t like was the yams . It was way way too much cinnamon to the point it was spicy . Then dessert came – if you listen to nothing else get the crème brûlée banana pudding . It taste just like granny made. I’m from Dallas and have yet to find food this good. If it was open today … I’d take my big back self right up there and get a few banana puddings to go !!

Amazing fried chicken! The seasoning was definitely a standout among other fried chicken I’ve had, though I wish it was just a tad more juicy. Mac and cheese was good, but not mind blowing. The cornbread was not too sweet but could have been a bit more moist. Staff was super friendly and provided quick service.
