Social Profile:

Mini Corral was a family-owned, counter-service restaurant in Alton, Illinois, known for its sliders, onion rings, broccoli tots, and homemade root beer. It originally opened in April 1982 at 1500 Main St. in Upper Alton. After the death of co-owner Sal Manescalco in 2021, the business was purchased by Mac’s Downtown. Mac’s initially operated it as a ghost kitchen before closing due to delivery-related quality issues. Mini Corral’s legacy continues with Mac’s Downtown, which now sells the same popular menu items in a counter service format at their own location.

This ain’t White Castle. These are real sliders; juicy and flavorful, served on a moist bun with choice of toppings. The waffle fries are thick and tasty. Wash it down with some of their great root beer.

Food was incredibly expensive, building was filthy, tables were sticky, floor hadn’t been cleaned (in what looked like ever), draft cold mug root beer had something floating in it, and bread on burgers were stale (not just toasted). Over all not the slightest bit impressed and we will not be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food. It isn’t the same and that’s ok. Each burger was cooked to perfection. We had a salad bar which had a vast variety as well. Don’t go in thinking you’ll get the old burgers and you’ll enjoy them as much as we did. Price was fair and service was solid. Will return!

Not too bad but definitely not an experience i want to have often, employees act lost most of the time while you stand there feeling like your invisible. Foods not bad but definitely not working out of your way, salad bad is pretty sad and over priced while everything else keeps you guessing, definitely alot of room for improvement over the old place and not a good representation of the old place. Hope they can improve but the mindset of today’s world of disrespectful customer service is definitely present here.

Got in for a later date night tonight and it was amazing as we remember, just at the new location, convenient and quiet. Private video gaming area. Delicious root beer just like uptown. So yummy. We will definitely be back!

When my daughter told me that Mini Corral Burgers had opened in Godfrey, I was excited to go there. However my excitement waned after looking at the menu and realizing that the mini burgers that I used to buy for $.50 a piece were now $2 a piece and you can only buy 6 or 12 Burgers unless you bought two burgers in a combination platter. The burgers were good and the root beer was still good. And the old Pizza Hut building that they are in has been well-maintained and was very clean and spacious. I realize over the past 5 years, that prices have gone up. It’s just difficult to pay $12 for two Junior Burgers and Fries

I really like what Mac did here, having 4 kinds of pizza under one roof. We ordered the St. Louis style crust with robust tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Pepperoni, bacon, and mushroom on the whole pizza, then green peppers and onions on just half. I didn’t think the crust was as thin as some of the St. Louis pizzas I’ve eaten, but it reminded me of the old Pizza Hut thin and crispy pizza. The sauce and toppings went well together, and we thought it was a decent pizza.

Had the sliders and fries for lunch. The sliders were delicious! Staff was so friendly! Only reason this review is not a 5, because it was costly. I will be back though!
