Busy place. We were seated within 5 minutes. Our group had 3 adults and 2 teenagers. None of us wanted the same thing. Yet, we all found something delicious and satisfying. I opted for the 8 piece double sushi. Fantastic.

Only good things were our server and the bottled sake. Miyako was WONDERFUL to us so none of tyke negative is towards her or her service. I’ve never been so disappointed at a sushi joint. Edamame was hard, for starters. Seaweed salad was an off extra neon green and had an unusual taste. The shrimp and noodles were the most bland thing I have ever tasted. The worst for me though was the tuna tataki. They don’t sear it, as most places do. It was barely touched with a torch by the sushi chef, so was nowhere near seared. It was just ice cold raw with a couple of uneven torched spots. So weird. The area where the sushi chef has his nori in an old box looks like it hasn’t been wiped down or cleaned in a long time. Place has a lot to work on.

Consistently delicious food and good prices. The lunch specials include generous portions. Staff is always friendly and courteous and we never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for our food. One of our favorites!

I can’t decide which was best, the food or the service. We had the Awesome Roll which lived up to its name, the Kung Pao beef, and house special Udon which were equally great. Jules was so sweet and attentive. We just move in to the area, was our first visit, and we will definitely be back!

Stumbled in after grocery shopping. The staff was amazingly friendly, food came out quickly and tasty! We had two dishes with tofu and a sushi roll. All great! 10/10 recommend!

Food is good but much to learn on customer service. My wife ordered a vegetarian hot n sour but got chicken instead. I called to get a replacement but was told that my wife had not specified the soup to be vegetarian so they’ll have to charge for additional soup. So basically it was host’s word against my wife’s. I would’ve expected them to handle it differently.

One frustration is that if you ask for extra dressing or condiments, they add it to your bill. They’ve also stopped providing the complimentary noodles and mustard/duck sauce that used to be part of the meal. These little touches matter — I’d recommend they stop charging for condiments and bring back the small extras. It would really improve the dining experience.

While a Waxhaw resident, we enjoy venturing out into Charlotte for our occasional Chinese and Japanese cuisine. However, Ming Fu has prompt, courteous, dine-in, and takeout options right here in town. With competitive prices and lunch specials daily from 11-3pm, this is a great option for locals. Find them also on Upside for additional savings on your final bill, too! Recommend takeout, as the dining room is a little compact and may have peak waiting times. Take advantage of a pot of hot tea with your favorites on the menu if you do dine in and enjoy the hot, fresh meals right out of the kitchen. We’ll done, Ming Fu
