MinGaLaBar is a bit of a hidden gem in the area. I had the Pork Belly Curry (#42), which was rich and flavorful, though visually a bit muted. The soup portions are massive, I almost missed them as they were listed with the appetisers, and prices are impressively fair. To be honest maybe even a bit low for the quality. If you enjoy other Asian cuisine like Thai, you’ll likely appreciate the bold, Asian-rooted flavors here, though the Burmese blend is quite distinct and hard to find elsewhere locally. I do wish they included calorie info on the menu, but that’s a minor gripe. Overall, a unique and satisfying spot worth discovering.

The food is so delicious! We ordered No. 41 and No. 43, we loved them, especially the rice on No. 41 is coconut-flavored, which is delicious.

Amazing! Never had something like tea leaf salad before. It was spicy, sour, crunchy. Delicious and hit all the taste buds. Also loved the fried tofu, it was like custard and the breading reminded of a corn dog at the state fair in a good way. The service was great. They take the their time to explain things. Highly recommend!!

We stopped by MinGaLaBar for the first time tonight. I was looking for new restaurants to take my Dad for his birthday and I stumbled across some reviews for this place and knew we’d want to try it. We ended up having a great meal, trying several new (to us) foods, and definitely think we’ll be back soon.

There were 4 of us eating so we split 2 appetizers and tried 4 different entrees.

Appetizers: Samosas and Tohu Jaw (fried chickpea tofu)

Main dishes:
– Kyar Zan Jaw (Fried Vermicelli Noodles with chicken)
– Kat Kyi Kaik (Fried Flat Noodles with squid and prawn)
– Wat Thar + Arloo Hnin (Pork stew with Potato)
– Sate Thar + Kalar Pae (Goat Stew with Chana Dal)

All the dishes were great but the highlights were definitely the goat stew, samosas and fried tofu.

One comment is that the noodle dishes were very large, and a lot of food, but the stews tended to be on the smaller side for portion size.

As for service, our server was really great and patient with us newbies to Burmese food. We appreciated that she was willing to walk us through different ways that we could eat the meal with the various toppings and seasonings provided.

Again, we enjoyed our meal and will be back. I just wish we had known about this place sooner!

Tried something new to us. It was good. The spring rolls were the best. So crispy and full of goodness. Chicken wings okay, the little potato filled pillow things were crispy and good.

The main dish was okay. I asked for medium spice and it was insanely spicy. I couldn’t eat it.

Ordered through DoorDash and it arrived hot and fresh in time line specified.

Silverware, chopsticks, napkins included. Plenty of food for 2 large adults. Total for food $35.

A friend recommended this place so we grabbed some takeout. We went in between normal meal times so the staff gave us lots of suggestions and were patient with us while we looked through everything. The menu was pretty gigantic and seemed like it included a few staples from surrounding cultures. Neither of us are familiar with Burmese food but we really enjoyed everything! I kind of wish I would have taken advantage of the specials they had at the time but we will definitely come back and try something different! The prices seem fair for the quantity and the quality of the ingredients!

My first time here tonight for dinner and didn’t have any expectations, but it was FABULOUS! I recommend the fried tofu as an appetizer – perfect golden crispy outside with a heavenly creaminess inside and dipping sauce on the side. I had the tea leaf salad which was so delicious! Husband had the tomato curry with shrimp, served with a side of pickled salad and soup. He loved his too! The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was quaint and no fuss – just our style for a relaxing weeknight dinner. We will be back often!

Very clean restaurant with some really authentic Burmese dishes. Service was quick and friendly. The Laphat Thoke which is a salad made of nuts, coconut chips, and fermented tea leafs is not to be missed. Its unique combination of aroma and flavor must be experienced to believe. The restaurant is a good place to go for vegetarians too due to its large salad selection.

If we could give 10k stars, we would. This was our 1st visit, and the food was to die for. I am still dreaming of the tea salad and the pork belly and sweet potato dish.
If you are looking for a flavor adventure, eat here.
The staff will answer any questions and make recommendations. I can’t wait to go back.
