The food is good but not extraordinary. The service is very standard for Chinese restaurants. The decor also standard for this kind of restaurant. Vegan e vegetarian options if you properly look the menu and talk to your server.

Been here a couple of times for dine in and take out. I remembered my first visit was during Covid where they only offered to go. The menu they had that time was great, affordable, and fulfilling. And yes back in the days this place was called King Wah which I never had the chance to visit but to just pass by. The time I came here to dine, it was a full house but waits were not long thanks to their well trained and friendly staffs. Their menu offers many authentic delicious Chinese dishes. I highly recommend coming a bit early because the parking is not the best in the area. Definitely will be back!

This place may have been a hidden gem 5 years ago but everyone knows about it now because it is always packed. You can consider this koi palace’s little brother the wait times are shorter and price is a bit less, but quality and flavor are still there.

The usual har gows and rice rolls are always good here. They also have the tim ho wan style BBQ buns.

Cant go wrong with this local dim sum spot if you’re in the area. There is also plenty of parking if you’re willing to walk 2 blocks from the Westlake plaza.

This used to be King Wah. I remember coming here a few times previously for the meals after funerals. Ming Yuan did a good job with re-decorating. The big partition sliding wall in the middle is new. The restaurant was full at 11:30am on a Wednesday. Luckily there was only four of us and got a table. It was about $120 for four people. Not bad. The food tasted OK. My only complaint was, there’s a photo of a seafood bird’s nest on their onlinee photos, posted by them. When I showed them the photo and asked for it, there were some confusion. The nest part was not available. We instead got crispy noodles instead. We remembered the waiter guy from when he worked at another dim sum restaurant in San Mateo. He joked that it is not him if he owed us money. Service was friendly.

The steam dumplings were large and delicious as usual. But the rice noodle Hong Kong style did not come with BBQ Pork which was disappointing. The crepes were very good and the shrimps were really large. And the Chinese broccoli was fresh and crunchy (excellent).

Important information: they don’t have Dim Sum during dinner time. You can only get Dim Sum at lunch time.

We ordered the Braised Abalone. I am very disappointed that it’s so small and tasted not fresh.

Other dishes were good.

They gave you complimentary fried peanuts as appetizer.

Seems a busy restaurant. At least it was very busy on Saturday.

This restaurant replaced king wah restaurant, the decor is nicer and brighter, the food is almost the same taste. They don’t serve food with carts anymore. Pay attention to how many person they charge for tea.
1/27/2024: this place is not as crowded as before, there is no wait line to get in. It’s hard to find a parking.

My MIL loves this place for dim sum and dinner. We’ve been here for dinner a few times.
My friend and I met to have dim sum for a late birthday celebration. We were not disappointed. We both ordered everything we liked and had a full table for 2 people. Don’t judge. We were able to enjoy it and each take home a snack for later.
Everything was fresh and tasty. We just wished they brought the “desserts” out later: egg tarts, custard buns, and sesame balls. The egg tarts didn’t look appetizing, but they were really good. Nice flaky crust.
Highly recommended and would return again for dim sum.

Dim sum was great. Came out quickly. It was quite loud and the front door was always open and was very cold in the restaurant. This made the experience unpleasant. The staff was ok.
