Sushi presentation was beautiful and was very tasty. Crab rangoons are top three I’ve ever had. The General Tso’s chicken in the lo mein was very flavorful.
It is very small inside and we went for a late lunch so it wasn’t too busy but it quickly filled up and then had a wait.
Definitely will be going back again.

This is one of the best Rhode Island Chinese food places. Their General Tsos is the only one worth eating in the state that I have found. Their crab Rangoons are a good blend of rich and sweet and crunchy. Most other places make them way too sweet. I have not had a bad dish here. My nephews loved the sushi and ramen.

We got a very large meal to go! The quick review is the food was outstanding!! Everything tasted delicious and portions were a large size. In fact we ordered too much food but hey we got lunch for tomorrow.
For appetizers we started with chicken fingers which were hot crispy and tempura battered, crab Rangoon which the cream cheese was sweet inside the wonton wrapper, egg rolls yummy, scallion pancakes were crispy and oniony. We had a few sushi rolls, salmon, French crunchy and Philadelphia. All very good. Next was general Tso chicken, lo mein chicken, pad Thai chicken, lettuce wraps. Again everything was amazing and I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

I have been to Mindy’s many times and keep going because I like the food. However I’d recommend you check your order before you leave the restaurant. I ordered takeout from there and ordered white rice for both the dinners and was sent home with pork fried rice, which neither of us like. I could have checked the order before leaving but only had two dishes and didn’t think of it. There was 1 customer inside the restaurant at the time. I left a $5 tip (20%). I called and asked to speak to a manager when I got home and opened the bag. Her response was “oh, sorry about that”. She didn’t offer to have rice ready for pickup if I wanted to come back or offer a partial refund or a gift card or free appetizer for next time, all of which are pretty standard remedies for the type of kitchen mistake. Disappointing customer service.

From the outside still looks like a diner.. but inside refurbished.. sushi counter that seats 8… 4/2tops right down the middle and 6/4tops that can be rearranged. Staff is friendly and the 1 waitress zips around ensuring the food is still steaming when it gets to your table. With 1 server/bartender the wait is minimal and served with a smile and thank you!!! Food is hot, fresh and Delicious. Some of the best Asian cuisine I have had in years!!

The sushi was delicious! We shared a maki plate and a chef choice sushi plate. Our son devoured the California rolls and we were delighted by the portion sizes and quality of fish. The restaurant itself is small inside and modest. It is nice to be able to see the sushi chef rolling away behind the counter and the bar has a wide selection of bottles. Prices were excellent for the quality.

The food here is pretty mid, with some of the health hazard items made up for by decent American Chinese for the area. The ambiance – what can you say – it was a beloved but windowless diner that they half renovated during COVID and still haven’t put siding on. But the people – wow. Had a take out order missing an item. No apology – as other reviews say this happens a lot, so I can see them getting tired of apologizing. They don’t refund for missing items – just maybe a credit, if you come back within some unspecified amount of time. The attitude though- wow! I was shouted at, called names – all because I asked for a refund for an item they forgot that wasn’t worth driving back for. Given the service – just go to New China a block down the road, the food is the same.

Great food. They do a large takeout business but not well. They miss special instructions. Yesterday I paid for my takeout and when it was ready it just sat on the counter. No one gave it to me. It was crowded so I couldn’t see my name on it. When I asked for an update they gave it to me. They need to find a better way to manage the takeout business.

Good food. Just make sure you double check any take out order… they often forget items.

Originally posted 2 stars for service, but that’s too generous. They forgot something in my order AGAIN. It’s now over 50% of the time that they get my order wrong or miss something entirely.

… Adding to my original post from months ago. Gave them a 5th try. They forgot an entire part of the order… YET AGAIN. 50/50 chance they get your order right, at best.

If you like rolling the dice… go for it.

We visited Mindys while we were in town. My to go order was ready but the restaurant was busy. A harried person told me it’ll be out soon but wasn’t ready. Yeah, it was! I had a text from the restaurant. After I insisted and showed the text the person went back and found it. We got fried rice and the eggs were burnt really shamefully. The tempura roll was only 6 pieces, the smallest shrimp tempura roll I have ever seen. The Portsmouth roll was mostly avocado and cucumber and most pieces fell apart before I could eat them. The crab Rangoon were more like cheese pockets and tasted old. The sweet and sour sauce with them was a cloying syrup that is not recommended. Overall, my dinner party was really disappointed.
