Chic restaurant serving sushi & traditional Japanese mains, plus omakase with advance notice.

Did the omakase here and really enjoyed it. 18 courses total (10 sushi + 8 dishes), and everything tasted very fresh. They used high-quality ingredients and are generous with them, such as uni and caviar. Portions are okay, I was pretty full, but my husband was about 80% full. Definitely worth trying.

So happy to have found this Restaurant! Fresh and authentic food, artfully presented. I must-visit if you love seafood. Restaurant was very clean and had a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We had the funniest server who made us laugh. I read the reviews and was worried they did not have desert on the menu. They actually do! Make sure to check it out. We had passionfruit and Matcha cake – light and creamy texture, not too sweet, perfect finish to dinner. We will definitely be back!

For the price, foods are disappointingly mediocre – restaurants I’ve been to in Tokyo Kyoto and Osaka with similar price definitely give you more memorable experiences.
Selection of alcohol is fine, although I was a little surprised that there is no umeshu and has very limited fruity drink options.
The white-fish-with-truffle appetizer is plane. I am not sure if the lack of seasoning is deliberate.
The small chirashi-styled bowl is good, but the shape of the container is definitely not designed well. At the bottom, there is an extra layer extending out to hold the cap on top. Salmon Roe would easily fall under that layer and you cannot get it out with the little spoon they give any more.
The sequence they present Nigiri is a little abnormal for me – started with blue fan tuna, ootoro and king salmon, then went into while fishes. I definitely struggled with clearing the taste in my mouth, so I wonder what was the chef’s intention of doing so.
I did not get enough food – I can only eat 500-600 calories per meal at home, yet that night I left still feeling hungry.
With mandatory service fee the overall price is $250 per person. I’d say absolutely not worth it.

I wish there was a way to give this place a higher number of stars. Everything has clearly had thought and intention put into it. From the cut of meat or fish the food is made from to the dishware is served on. This is one of if not the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in the US. The owner of this restaurant should be proud of what their vision turned into.

I was told to come and try this place and the sushi. I am not a sushi person myself and if I do eat it, it’ll be time to time. I mainly would try more cooked stuff. However, as you might see with the pictures, this is what we all got. Coming from someone who barely tries sushi, this ended up being a yummy experience. Same was for the rest of the table. I believe there was 1 person and maybe manager/owner serving and wow that seemed to be busy (not wonder if it was around dinner time) I have picked up food from there and he always greets the people with so much enthusiasm and politeness! We got beautiful roses in our table and got our dishes. With a place like this, have some patience to receive your food because if busy, it can take a bit for you to get your order. Overall, after trying the dishes I liked my Grilled Salmon that comes with rice and next time I will try the Angus Steak, from the pictures looks goooood! But as I said, the sushi, also was tasty and enjoyable.
Thank you for providing a great service to the two people who made our dinner experience an excellent and delightful one.

If it’s your first time doing omakase, this is the place to be. From the checking in to dining, everything was exceptional! Andrew provided the best service experience. He was knowledgeable on what to pair with what is served and made sure to check in with us throughout the course. The chefs were professional, and served us in a timely manner. Highly recommend, will be coming back soon

This restaurant has quickly become my absolute favorite. Every visit feels like a culinary experience, with dishes that are as beautifully presented as they are delicious. The quality, creativity, and attention to detail in both flavor and plating consistently exceed my expectations, making the prices feel completely justified. One of the standout aspects is their distinct lunch and dinner menus, offering a variety of flavors that make it well worth visiting at different times of the day. I love that I can try something new each time and always leave impressed. Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for an exceptional dining experience, this place never disappoints.
Beyond the incredible food, the ambiance and service elevate the entire dining experience. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between inviting and upscale, making it a great spot for both casual outings and special occasions. The staff is consistently attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu, always ready with recommendations that never fail to impress. From the first bite to the last, every meal here feels thoughtfully crafted and memorable. If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers excellence in every aspect, this place is an absolute must-visit.

TLDR: Decent mid-tier Japanese cuisine choice in downtown Bellevue location. Worth a try if you haven’t been here before.
Food: Good quality food, only thing is that some roll’s portion for certain ingredients can be a bit more generous
Service: The restaurant wasn’t busy and the waitresses were quite attentive and stopped by several times. Why not 5-star? They seemed quite anxious to clean up our plates after we’re done eating, which could seem to be rushing us out. They could’ve done the final cleanup after we left.
Atmosphere: Nice and modern decor throughout. Space seems a bit too compact in some part of the restaurant.

Always a great dinner. Minamoto is the best Japanese restaurant in Seattle’s Eastside, no contest. The fish is top quality and the sushi preparations are amazing. Didn’t miss the hot stone waygu dishes. They are super fun and taste amazing, worth every penny! This is also the only restaurant where you can get an authentic Uni Don
