The vibe inside is dark and modern. Very romantic. I felt like I was in the city. This is by far the BEST pork tonkatsu I have had aside from Japan. Definitely recommend it! Pork gyoza was good and sushi was delicious however sushi presentation could be better IMO.

We went here because the rolls looked extremely interesting. There were some combinations that I’ve never seen before, which there’s probably a reason for.
The Loco Tako roll had a very weird taste to it. I don’t know what was going on there, but it was very off-putting.
My wife ended up getting a spider roll wrapped with tuna it was almost like the soft shell crab was mixed with bread crumbs or something. It did not taste good.
The other two rolls okay at best. Considering the price, this place is just not worth it. On a positive note, the fish seemed very fresh, but it looks like whoever puts together these flavor profiles isn’t very good at what they do. Service was close to non-existent as well. Boo.

We went in on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. It was busy but we were seated within about 10 minutes. The place had a fun, lively atmosphere with lots of energy.
My boyfriend ordered a Sapporo and I had a couple of piña coladas — hands down the most delicious piña coladas I’ve had in a long time! The sushi was good and nicely presented; I’ve had a bit more flavorful sushi elsewhere, but overall it was enjoyable and fresh.
Service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly despite how busy it was. I’d definitely come back again to try more rolls and maybe some BBQ next time.

All of our family members, including myself, had heard so much about Minami’s Korean-style sushi course menu! It’s hard to meet such high expectations, but today they absolutely did. Every bite and every moment was enjoyable — the presentation, quality, and service were all on point. There’s truly no other place in the Chicagoland area that serves a Korean-style sashimi course like this. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This hidden neighbourhood gem is an unexpected spot for high-end nigiri and sushi rolls. We often call to enquire about big fin tuna (weekends) and their specials. The staff is welcoming, and the vibe is cool and modern casual. Lunch bento boxes offer variety, and we also love the yaki udon and chicken katsu (crispy tempura-crumbed chicken with Japanese BBQ dipping sauce). Try the Laura Abbey roll, dragon and soft shell crab in peak season (May). It’s been an excellent restaurant for over 20 years! Highly recommend a visit or takeaway.

My wife and I just found our new favorite sushi restaurant. Great sashimi and rolls, delicious miso, great drink menu, friendly and attentive service, and best of all, fair prices. The interior is clean and the place has a good modern vibe. 5 stars! We’ll make the 30 minute drive to come back every time we have a taste for sushi.
