Great local spot. Friendly service.
The pizza is great, thin crust style, I like the Simone’s Special Pizza, Lasagna Pizza, and Tropical specialty pizzas.
Their calamari is excellent, light crisp breading with great seasoning, their marinara sauce is nice and fresh tomato flavor and just enough garlic and other seasoning.
Their wings are also very very good, nice crisp on outside, their blue cheese dressing is nice.
For Pasta dishes, favorite is the Primavera with Linguine in white sauce, which is excellent.
Recommend the tiramisu for dessert and espresso to cap it off.

We always love the food here. Everything is fresh and excellent. A highlight for me is the shrimp fra diavolo. The garlic knots were awesome – nice and yeasty, not overdone with garlic, and super soft. Somewhat different in style than many places. Other options to recommend are the Alfredo, and chicken or eggplant Parmesan . I didn’t try my grandson’s pepperoni pizza (hard to get a suitable review comment from a 4 year old), but it sure looked awesome with a thin, bubbly crust with a slight char on places.
On this particular night, the server seemed less experienced than I would expect. Didn’t ask about salad dressing and we all received ranch. Some Italian places only have Italian dressing, so that is kind of what you expect when not offered a choice. Once delivered we asked for different options as none of our party is a fan of ranch. We got no plates for the garlic knots and marinara. The pile of salad bowls were never removed from the table even when we were eating dessert.
On previous visits we were given fresh bread, and the Parmesan dishes were served with garlic bread, but none this time. I did see that some tables did receive fresh bread, so not sure what happened there.

Went to Mimmos last minute last night after learning Hoagies is closed Mondays. I got the veggie calzone. Food took nearly an hour to arrive (group of 4 adults, 1child). When it did come out my calzone was cold and all the veggies raw. One person in our group didn’t get her food for a good 10 minutes after the rest of us. I asked for my calzone to be reheated but was told no because I had taken a bite. Instead they remade my calzone so I needed to wait 15ish minutes for new one. When that one arrived it was warmer but the veggies rawer. The waitresses were great and super apologetic. maybe some people like completely raw onions, peppers, mushrooms and broccoli in their calzones but I would prefer they be at least Al dente. I want to give a shout-out to the great waitresses and the free brownie we received as compensation.

I ordered a lg chef salad $14.99 ended up costing me $18 plus but my Apple Card was charged $20 plus change. No salad is worth $20.00 but lesson learned also they won’t take individual payments which is absurd. Not recommending our party went at least twice a month. And for these reasons will truck on down the road to hoogies

My family and I love to dine at Mimmo’s in Essex. The staff are all extremely friendly and professional, the food is top notch and very reasonably priced. We love the balsamic chicken salad, antipasto, Italian sandwich, shrimp scampi and chicken parmesan. The meat lovers pizza is awesome, also the Italian bread and garlic knots! Have never left there disappointed.

We love Mimmos! The food and ingredients are always fresh and the food served hot! The sauce is the best and, as an Italian restaurant, is served generously. The service is always wonderful and the owners Simone and Britnee are always present, engaging, personable and funny! They truly and genuinely care about the quality of your experience and will often stop by your table to ask how anything is and if they can make something better. I HIGHLY recommend Mimmos for fresh, delicious, homemade Italian food.

Pasta was weirdly starchy and overcooked. The buffalo sauce was very odd and the wings were super dry. I couldnt even finish one. The bread was the only edible thing.

We love Mimmo’s restaurant the food and service is great.
From time to time we like to come with friends. Twice we were told that you cannot split checks. I can understand that with the credit card fees but we are willing to pay cash. We have never experienced that in any other restaurant.

Having read so many positive things about this place I decided to give it a go and also I was craving some good pizza. I was not disappointed and got to eat a superbly tasting pizza in a nice atmosphere.
The staff were welcoming and friendly and my server in particularly was very helpful and friendly. I had the focaccia for starters and a pizza to follow. Both were excellent.
