Well I drove 40 minutes to have authentic cuban food…….closed for renovations. That would’ve been nice to know. They could’ve said that on the website. Not making that trip again. I would’ve been a good customer. Not happy. I will also not recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Convenient location, unique flavors and recipes, only local Cuban restaurant, family owned and from Cuba, diverse selection of dishes, drive through/takeout/dine in available, friendly service, opened recently, good prices for such cultural food, open 6am-6pm, offers Cuban coffee, menu includes rare desserts, lunches, and dinner that you won’t find anywhere else. Recommend coming here for the unique desserts.

Cons: limited English so ordering is a bit of a challenge sometimes depending on who you get, drive through only supports two or three vehicles before blocking parking entrance. Drive through only holds 3~ cars before being held up on a main road. Maybe try to reverse the drive through so the entrance is on the other side.

I was one of their first customers, have ordered most of their dishes. Before I write any directly negative review, love your unique desserts and staff, but I recommend someone examine the pork dish for improvement. Would love to see this restaurant expand and improve, we need more cultural restaurants in the city.

Update (Nov 2024):
Cons – when they first opened they had great customer service but now customer service is non existent. Two employees here don’t speak English so ordering was very challenging, they did not know their own dishes, no other customer currently here but all the tables are dirty with garbage, outside decorations are damaged, counter tile has multiple missing pieces, cuban pizza was not cut, had to find the least dirtiest table to use. Ordered food but never served drinks. Had to remind them multiple times that I ordered water and a cuban espresso. Employees kept leaving the front counter for long periods of time. No boxes for food besides pizza box, had to throw dishes either in a pizza box mixing with the pizza or directly in a grocery bag. They serve hot soup in thin plastic containers which I would think they are not designed for hot foods.

Pros – food is tasty enough and is the only Cuban place around, espresso is delicious.

The food is unique enough to come back but between bad cleanliness, poor service, limited communication, and occasional food poisoning it will be awhile before I try this place again. I really do wish this place succeeds because it is the only Cuban option around, so hopefully they improve these issues.

This was my first time checking them out, and I’ll definitely be back! They have a drive thru which is very convenient, today I decided to go in and check the inside out though. I was very happy with the service and the food! The rice pudding was delicious, and was exactly what I was craving.

I don’t live in Flint, but my coworker and I were in town and just wanted to try this Cuban bakery and it is amazing! We got a Cuban sandwich. The bread is amazing and the pork is braised perfectly. I tried their Cuban coffee and it was delicious. Pastries were wonderful and flaky. Please try this place out!

These are the best sandwiches and Epanadas but although they food is great the staff are really the best. I went to get a sandwich and they were sold out. I got the Epanadas and potato balls. The wait staff felt so bad that they sold out she gave me a desert! I love the people as much as the food.

I had the shredded beef (tender and juicy) yellow rice with veggies and fried sweet plantains.
There is also chicken and pork, white rice, and black bean rice.
I had the cinnamon rice pudding for dessert. It was all so yummy!
Their portions are huge… enough for left overs later or the next day.
I have had their stuffed potatoes, flan, and pastries. I love the triangle pastry with cheese and guava.
☕ If you love a strong coffee, the Cuban coffee will surely satisfy your taste buds. There is a little bit of sweetness to it too. It might be small, but it is mighty and packs a punch that wakens you up.
The people there are very friendly and helpful. If there’s a word that they can’t think of in English they use their phone to translate, but they do communicate quite well.

Disgusting dry stale bread and empanadas. Greasy overcooked egg scramble and fries. They dont even give everything you order on delivery-mine was missing tamales. First time trying this place and never again. Whoever cooked tonight should be fired if this is not your normal practice. I could not continue to eat this after tasting, wasted money and about puked. One good thing is the coffee wasn’t bad.

Cuban sandwich was delicious. The pork was super tender and flavorful. Not a ton of mustard or pickle but it didn’t need it. Nice portion for price too – almost couldn’t finish the entire thing on an empty stomach!

My fault for high expectations. The Cuban sandwich had the driest meats and few pickles to offset. My partner described her food as bland, but enjoyed the bread. The coffee was amazing at least.
