Went here for lunch on Sunday and we’re very happy with the food and service. Chris was our server and he was very kind and attentive. It was clear by my observation of other patrons and staff members that they treat everyone amazing. Will come back for sure!

This was THE WORST experience my wife and I could’ve had. First red flag is when we walked in their chalk sign said they were closed. A server walked by and said he has no idea why it was up but he just left it.
Second, our waiter was impossible to understand. He spoke FAR to quietly and you mix that with his accent I had no idea what he was saying or asking. He was also the slowest server I’ve ever met.
Third, it took a solid 45 mins to get our food served to us. Both were awful. For $25 a plate I expected edible but it was quite the opposite. My steak tasted as if it was based in burnt oil. Every chew felt like I was chomping on chemics. The cook on it was perfect but it was absolutely inedible based on whatever oil or seasoning they used. 2 bites in and I was gagging. My wife’s food was less then steller. Her poached eggs were scrambled on the inside, the “avocado toast” was just few slices of avocado on one slice of bread. She has salmon on top of it. Had the salmon was so hard it crunch and the other part was so mush it was nearly pudding. On top of it all is she pulled scales off of it
Fourth, after waiting another 35 mins to get our waiter to come back once we told him the issue. He admitted this happens often. And that he can’t do anything so he’d get the manager.
Fifth, manager comes over and asked if we wanted different food. We denied and he just said “sorry” then walked away. We were highly confused at what the next steps were since he didn’t do anything.
Sixth, after another 45 mins we had to get up and go find someone. We found the manager and asked him to come over and he just turned around. Finally out waiter came over and said “did the manager come over” (meaning there is no communication). We told him what the manager did. Waiter was confused and clearly frustrated and told us to just go.
This place needs to figure their issues out. I have no idea how they’re open. High priced bad foods with bad workers and terrible management it’s a miracle it’s still open.
Avoid at all costs!

Nice spot! The entire restaurant is huge, so there’s a ton of seating. There was no wait for breakfast, we were seated promptly and our server greeted us pretty quickly once we were seated. The menu is extensive with so many different choices, not only for breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. I’ve passed this place too many times not realizing what it had to offer. A great location in the Valley! Food was great! Another unexpected option was the huge beverage selection, including boozy breakfast options! Can’t wait to try another meal here!

I was looking for a diner and decided to check out Mimi’s. The atmosphere was cozy like and definitely had a cafe vibe in the air. It took several minutes to be greeted and seated, then several more minutes to get drink orders. The wait staff was polite. I ordered spinach artichoke, a cajun shakshuka and the grand breakfast with bacon, eggs, and pain perdu mixed with berries. The spinach artichoke was solid and parmesan forward, the cajun shakshuka was underwhelming in flavor and spices, no real cajun flavor to speak of and honestly a less than hearty shakshuka, a nice effort that fell flat, the eggs and bacon were what you would want from any diner, the star of the show was the pain perdu, soft, moist, and yet fluffy and airy at the same time. If I recommend anything here it’s the typical diner fare.

Mimi’s is one of my favorite restaurants in the St Louis area because it’s so cozy and the food is good. Some family members and I had Thanksgiving dinner there this year and it was a set menu with large portions of food including soup or salad to start and pie to finish. The set price was $32, excluding drinks. It was all delicious. Our waitress was obviously very busy but also friendly. I made evening reservations through OpenTable because afternoon reservations were blocked. Next year, I’ll call the restaurant for my preferred late-afternoon time.
On non-holidays, I like meeting individual friends there for a late lunch or early dinner and a quiet chat.

Had the cinnamon roll french toast and other guests at table had omelet and steak. Food and service was fantastic. Unfortunately the atmosphere has gone a bit downhill. Decor was dusty and dirty around table, most lights were burnt out over tables as well. Too bad on the cleanliness as everything else was great.

This was probably the worst experience we have ever had. Charging 22$ for this “avocado toast” is insane. The face that you had this come out of the kitchen like this.. no effort was put into this. The poached egg was like a scrambled egg inside. The smoked salmon was a mix of mush and hard chunks.
My husbands steak was nothing but a burnt oil taste.
We had the manager come over and he did offer to have something else made but we were so grossed out by the food we denied, all he said was sorry I’ll go get your surver. Then we sat there waiting for him to come back to fix it or just give the bill. Finally I had to go get someone after 30 more min of sitting there waiting for something to happen. Got our server who literally asked if the manger did anything and told us to just go a head and leave. If your servers even know how shitty quality is there, you should make changes..

I wish I could give this place a 3.5, but there were a few more negatives than positives. I came in about an hour and ten minutes before closing. I was really surprised there was only one other table there. It took about ten minutes before someone noticed me at the front, and I was seated. The restaurant itself looked really cool, and I had high hopes. I ordered the brunch trio. The eggs came out about ten minutes before the rest of my food, and the server told me the cooks were new, so they were still working on the rest. When the rest of the food came out, it was beautiful. The waffle was really good! The pain perdu with mixed berries wasn’t my favorite. It was pretty soggy and the flavor wasn’t great, kind of sour, but I also understand everything isn’t for everyone. Finally, the pumpkin pancake with apples was not good. I decided to take the apples off to eat separately, and I realized the entire pancake was almost completely raw on the inside. My entire meal ended up costing around $25. I don’t think the price is out of line, but I would have expected the food and experience to be much better for the price of breakfast food.

We had a large group there for a baby shower. Food was abysmal. Hot honey sandwich had neither heat nor honey. Fries were cold and unsalted. The server was HORRIBLE. I wanted 20 minutes with an empty beer bottle and she never even came by to offer a refill. Our plates, after we finished, were sitting so long on the table that we actually bussed our own table. We had to clean up our OWN TABLE. Will never be coming here again. The server and cooks should be ashamed.

Mimi’s Cafe is one of the places that always have us leaving full and happy.
This visit has me, my kids (9Years boy and 7years girl) and my brother in law. I honestly thought this would be different because we had a new server and thought he won’t provide us with the the service we are used to, but we were wrong. It was an excellent service.
I had the corned beef hash Benedict which was on point. The yolk was as runny as it could specially that was how I requested it to be, potatoes were flavourful and soft, English muffins crispy. No complaints there. My son ordered the chicken and waffles which he loved and shared with his sister and still was able to have some back with him. My daughter has the kid’s pancakes she also loved specially the way it was presented. And finally, the brother in law ordered the egg white croissant breakfast sandwich with a side of turkey sausage. It looked good and he devoured it all.
We got few thing back for the ones that couldn’t make it here and they were so happy with their choices. 2 muffins and an order of French toast.
This is one of the places that I’d recommend to go for, specifically for breakfast and brunch. The other menus are good but we mostly visit during day time.
