Fantastic food. Main dishes are reasonably priced for the amount you get (basically two meals). I have pictures below of some of the food my party got, including a pho, a vermicelli noodle dish, and a plate with two of our appetizers.

The staff are also super friendly. Very nice people, and they seemed to be familiar with many of the faces coming in. They were also very quick with getting us our food despite being super busy with both people eating in and many take out orders.

I was recommended this place by someone who said it was their favourite Vietnamese place, and it certainly did not disappoint!

I don’t usually write negative reviews, every one has its own story. This experience was genuinely disappointing and uncomfortable.

I ordered a noodle dish that came to $21.40 after tax, which is not cheap. The portion was very basic with very few ingredients — only three crab cakes, a few tomatoes, and a few small fried tofu cubes. Even adding all the veggies it’s still ummmm. This was already surprising for the price.

More concerning, the crab cakes were not fully cooked and were cold inside. When I pointed this out, they took them back to reheat and then returned them in a separate bowl. One of the crab cakes was clearly the same one I had already bitten into. The soup also looked messy and separated after reheating, which didn’t inspire confidence.(the photos speak for themselves)

The staff seemed confused about why I was concerned and asked if I wanted to order something else, but I didn’t feel reassured about the food handling at that point.

Overall this experience raised serious concerns about food quality and hygiene. I won’t be returning for sure.

Updated: from the business owner’s reply, I guess there’s nothing more to be said, they clearly don’t think they’ve done anything wrong.

I regularly dine in and also order takeout from this restaurant. The food is consistently excellent fresh, flavorful, and of high quality. Their fried chicken, chicken sandwiche, shrimp rolls, BBQ and stir fried chicken, and chicken soup are always delicious. Without a doubt, one of the best places on this street. Highly recommended. Must visit this place in chinatown

Overall: mediocre

Let’s start off with the vermicelli dish: small portion for the price (~$17), beef was flavourful but dry.

The seafood noodle with anchovy broth was way too salty. It’s supposed to be a hearty soup but it felt like a heart attack

Services was great though!

I brought my 2 kiss in for dinner and was greeted with the warmest welcome. I ordered a pho, and without me asking they had brought kids wares out along with scissors for cutting the noodles. The food was great, generous portions, very quick and friendly service. Would recommend this spot.

Tasty Vietnamese food. Grilled pork noodles were good. Pho needed a bit more meat for my liking. Friendly ladies greet you.

Mimi’s is consistent, reliable and always delicious. I have been going there with my family and friends for years. I am a local teacher and have brought my class of students for a special meal many times over the years. The service, care and love the staff show when the gaggle of K and gr 1 students arrive is incredibly special. This welcome, combined with the specially prepared menu, is an example of the standout personal care Mimi’s extends to its customers. It’s a must visit for authentic Vietnamese in Toronto!

Service is friendly and quick, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Great prices for the quality you get. This is one of those go-to spots you can always count on when you’re craving Vietnamese food. Definitely recommend!
