Reviews
The staff are also super friendly. Very nice people, and they seemed to be familiar with many of the faces coming in. They were also very quick with getting us our food despite being super busy with both people eating in and many take out orders.
I was recommended this place by someone who said it was their favourite Vietnamese place, and it certainly did not disappoint!
I ordered a noodle dish that came to $21.40 after tax, which is not cheap. The portion was very basic with very few ingredients — only three crab cakes, a few tomatoes, and a few small fried tofu cubes. Even adding all the veggies it’s still ummmm. This was already surprising for the price.
More concerning, the crab cakes were not fully cooked and were cold inside. When I pointed this out, they took them back to reheat and then returned them in a separate bowl. One of the crab cakes was clearly the same one I had already bitten into. The soup also looked messy and separated after reheating, which didn’t inspire confidence.(the photos speak for themselves)
The staff seemed confused about why I was concerned and asked if I wanted to order something else, but I didn’t feel reassured about the food handling at that point.
Overall this experience raised serious concerns about food quality and hygiene. I won’t be returning for sure.
Updated: from the business owner’s reply, I guess there’s nothing more to be said, they clearly don’t think they’ve done anything wrong.
Let’s start off with the vermicelli dish: small portion for the price (~$17), beef was flavourful but dry.
The seafood noodle with anchovy broth was way too salty. It’s supposed to be a hearty soup but it felt like a heart attack
Services was great though!
It is seldom to have tomato base Vietnamese noodles but it tastes quite good
The server also owner? is very friendly
