Mimi Chinese has all the right elements on paper, beautiful décor, strong aesthetics, and attentive service, but unfortunately, all of that goes to waste once the food arrives.

The food itself is subpar, and honestly some of the worst Chinese food I’ve had, especially considering the price point. I ordered what was advertised as a heirloom tomato salad, but it was a misleading mix of a few heirloom tomatoes and cheap cherry tomatoes. Not acceptable. The pork dumplings were probably the best dish of the night, not great, just the least disappointing.

The Char Siu ribs were a solid 4/5 and the only dish I genuinely enjoyed. On the other hand, the chicken, shrimp, and vegetable stir fry was a 3/5 at best. It was overly coated in a thick, starchy sauce, lacked depth, and felt heavy and unbalanced.

To make matters worse, shortly after getting home I became sick, and it turned out to be food poisoning that lasted three days.

Overall, I can’t recommend Mimi Chinese. Between the disappointing food quality, misleading dishes, and a very poor price-to-quality ratio, it simply doesn’t justify the hype or the cost.

Amazing dining experience here with my boyfriend! From the moment you step inside, the vibes are set: luxurious, trendy, moody, yet also cozy. Our waiter (Jeff I think?) was very attentive, never letting our water glasses get empty, and knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we agonized over what to order because everything sounded fantastic. We ended up with the orange chicken, stir fried greens, four foot belt noodle, and chicken dumplings. Everything was inventive, unique, and so so flavorful (and pretty spicy!), at least for our American palates. The stir fried greens were for sure the highlight. The orange chicken left much to be desired. For dessert, we ordered the ma lai go and it was seriously fantastic. Definitely recommend this restaurant and I will for sure be back to try more dishes!

Step inside and the tone is set immediately: lush décor washed in deep reds, warm lighting, and a polished, intimate ambiance that feels celebratory without being loud. The space strikes a confident balance—elegant enough for a date night, yet inviting enough that you want to linger over multiple courses. For a restaurant just about a year old, it already feels assured in its identity.

The menu is rooted firmly in traditional Chinese cuisine, but everything is elevated—both in execution and sourcing. Ingredients are thoughtfully brought in from China, lending authenticity to flavors that feel layered, precise, and deeply comforting. From the images alone, you can taste the care: delicately sauced whole fish finished with aromatics and herbs; wok-tossed greens glistening with balance and restraint; crisp fried bites with clean crunch; and composed noodle and rice dishes that show discipline rather than excess. Nothing feels overworked—each dish respects its origin while benefiting from refined technique.

Pro Tip: Ask about the 9-course chef’s selection menu—it’s the best way to experience the breadth of the kitchen and trust their vision.
Bonus Tip: Don’t skip the cocktails. They’re playful, modern twists that pair surprisingly well with the food and add an extra layer of fun to the experience.

In short: a confident newcomer doing traditional Chinese cuisine the right way—respectfully, thoughtfully, and with just enough flair to keep things exciting.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish.
The interior is moody, elegant, and cinematic — the kind of place that feels both elevated and exciting the moment you walk in.
Service was top-notch: attentive without being intrusive, and the staff knew the menu inside and out. We felt genuinely well taken care of.
As for the food… simply delicious. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.
Favorites included the House Char Siu, Har Gow.
We also tried the Four Foot Belt Noodle — visually impressive and rich in flavor, though a bit too salty for our taste. Still, it was the only minor off-note in an otherwise flawless meal.
No hesitation: this place is a solid 5/5. Can’t wait to return.

Mimi Chinese impresses with a modern take that stays true to traditional Chinese flavors. The food authentically captures the essence of the cuisine while offering a fresh, contemporary twist. Our server was exceptionally helpful, guiding us thoughtfully through the family-style menu to ensure we sampled a variety of dishes.
The cocktails were enjoyable and well-crafted, though not quite the star of the show. What truly stood out were the dumplings and the rice dishes . reason enough to return. The interior atmosphere paired well with the food, creating a stylish yet welcoming setting.

Exceptional!
We came here for a date night to celebrate our anniversary. Service was great, it was more of an experience versus a regular night out to eat. Definitely coming again, but with a group, it’s cool to order different dishes and share them so you can try it all.
Highly recommend the following dishes:
Toasted shrimp & Chicken Dumplings for appetizer.
Main course, pork belly with Green fried rice and belt noodle.
Desert was one of the best deserts I’ve ever had, Hong Kong cake ? Not sure the name but it was phenomenal.
Looking forward to going again!

Hey Mimi, I love you. My first experience? amazing. My second experience? AMAZING AWESOME FANTASTIC! listen, I appreciate the fact that we have a upscale Chinese restaurant in Miami. The city desperately needed this place. That being said, I’m a regular for good. . The service is perfect especially Jeff. He’s very attentive and sweet. Everyone overall did a great job at making our visit special as always. We feel valued and taken care of when we go here. My favorite plates are the Har Gow with chili oil, four foot noodle, hidden chicken, and the stir fried greens. The ambiance is wonderful, I can talk in peace. The music is great. I hope Mimi is here for a long time and I’m so happy. I’m already planning for my next visit lol hoping to slowly try the whole menu! Go Mimi!

We shared the chicken dumplings, cucumber salad, ribs, and hidden crispy chicken. I also had 1 cocktail, which was refreshing and light. Everything was delicious except the hidden crispy chicken, so much so that I felt the need to leave a review. I love food and there’s very little that I don’t like…something about this chicken was horrible to me. Upon arrival it looks amazing and delicious, though it was completely dry with no sort of sauce. After two bites, it left the strangest burning/numbing/tingling sensation in my mouth to the point where I was worried I was having an allergic reaction (which I have never had before). I asked who I was with if they agreed and they did…both of us were completely overwhelmed by it. Whatever spices/seasonings they are using in it are so overpowering it completely takes over the entire dish, and not in a good way. The flavors lingered in my mouth the rest of the meal and I was unable to really enjoy much after that. I will say the chicken has all of the makings of being great, but the flavor profile as it currently stands is so off. We will definitely come back, but will be avoiding the hidden chicken.
