We all enjoyed our food. I wish the rating system was on halves.. where I could give the food rating a 4.5. Better than like (4), but less than love(5). Haystack onion rings were great, just needed more salt. The Philly steak could use more cheese. Husband loved his shrimp tacos. Daughter thought the BLT was ok. Generous amount of French fries!
The Lemonade was a little weak, would not get that again.

Great place. Finally found a restaurant that sold pan fried blue gill. My baked cod with potato pancake was really good. 8 people at the table and the only sound I heard was where is the doggy bags. Clean restroom ,plenty of parking plus outside dining. I will return.

This is a nice place, it is a mix of people but generally when I have visited an older crowd. Music is old and I don’t enjoy it. Let’s get to service, food quality and presentation and overall rating. The service is sometimes great, sometimes hit or miss. Good choices are plentiful but I would bite note not a lot of dietary choices if you need to specialize. Presentation and quality is nice— consistent. Overall rating a 3.7 but had to round to a 4 here. I do visit knowing it is not a chain and someone built this business and it continues to evolve a bit.

We so wanted to like the Milwaukee Grill more. Drinks were great. Food and service started out good. Every piece of fish (4) had bones in it. The last piece wasn’t cleaned at all and ended up being spit into a napkin because it was inedible. The waitress had been kind and attentive but actually asked if “we were serious” when we asked to speak to the manager. When we explained it wasn’t her but because of the fish, she still questioned our requests for a manager. The manager was polite, and we shared we understood the issue was probably with their vendor. But the last piece should not have gone unnoticed. Also, no one goes to a restaurant for fish with the expectation that they are going to have to monitor every bite they took. What if this has been served to a child? The manager offered no compensation except to say to let her know early and she would have replaced it. I don’t chace bad food with more bad food. Service level ruined the experience we hoped to have, this restaurant had been hyped up by multiple friends. Maybe other food is good, but we won’t return.

We came in without giving notice with about 16/17 people. You were so accommodating to us , even went out back and brought in another table for us , our waitress was on it the whole time , food was great – haystacks are amazing! ! We were all in town for a funeral , which of whom loved your place and we wanted to be there to celebrate her life and enjoy something that she did . Thank you for all you did !

The service was quick, and the staff made the experience very welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy — I can only imagine how perfect it would feel on a cold winter night.
I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad, which was featured on the wall as a crowd favorite, and it did not disappoint.

I’ve eaten here almost a dozen times and the service and food is consistent which speaks volumes. The bathrooms are enjoyable (strange I know) and though we have to wait at times its hasn’t been too long. We enjoy outdoor seating though it can get buggy/hot they do have fans. I look forward to more meals here!

I’ve been there probably about five times, but my last time was a terrible experience from the start. It took our waitress probably 10 minutes to take our food order and another 40 minutes for the food to come out. Other people were getting their food before us when they clearly their order was placed after us. Our waitress asked if we wanted our bread before the meal. We said yes, but she never brought it until we asked for it again. She also, never came by to offer to refill the coffee. When the food came out the potatoes were barely warm. The manager came out and asked us how everything was and we told them we waited a long time for our food and she said that our order wasn’t placed till like 2:33 PM. Well that certainly wasn’t the time that she took a order. Apparently she never gave it to the kitchen until 2:33. The manager basically made it seem like we were exaggerating and didn’t believe us. All the waitress had to do was communicate for the delay. Instead, all she did was zoom past and say, “It will be a few more minutes on the chicken, ok”?

Accomadated a party of 9 at 7pm on a Friday night. 7 adults and 2 children.
We came in while the restaurant was still packed from the normal Friday night rush. They don’t take reservations, but I called the day before to give them a heads up and they made a note. We arrived about 6:50, and it could have been a longer wait but they got us seated in 15 minutes.
Due to the physical limitations of the space, our party was split between a table for 6 and a booth. They couldn’t push the tables together, but this was to keep walkways free for other guests and servers.
Our server was great, handling the big group on separate checks. Even though we were split between tables, they got everyone’s food out at roughly the same time. Maybe 2-3 mins wait for the last dishes.
Food was absolutely wonderful, and one of our group described it as “some of the best food in town”. He got the salmon and the crab cakes. One of the kids, a notoriously picky eater, LOVED the house sirloin and almost finished the entire thing. I have never seen this kid eat that much while in public.
This place is best when your group is 6 people or less. If you have a bigger party, please be patient with the servers, call ahead if you can, and plan on going when it is calmer/end of a rush. The only issue was the physical limitations due to building size, which no one can control.

I ordered the almond crusted trout with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were the best I’ve ever had, perfectly seasoned and cooked, so they were flavorful but still firm in the center. The almond crust on the trout was amazing. The almonds had a few pieces that gave it a nice, nutty texture with awesome seasonings that complimented the trout. My husband got the half rack of ribs and 2 pieces of chicken. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the chicken was fried well, not over or under done. Our waitress was great, keeping the drinks filled and empty plates cleared. The ladies’ restroom was amazing. There was a single stall with a toilet, then a large stall with a toilet, sink, and paper towel setup, so it was like a separate bathroom. I have been pregnant 3 times, so I’ve used lots of public restrooms, and this was the nicest, by far.
