This place is a hidden gem of South milwaukee. I tried it out for the first time today and i am impressed. The food was great and service was probably the best ive ever had. I tried the patty melt and coffee and let me tell you they were some of the best ive ever had. I look forward to going back and trying the prome rib. Give it a shot, i promise you wont be dissapointed.

Fun place near Grant Park. Had the fish fry. Fish was very good. Potato pancakes a bit mushy inside. But home made. Very sweet waitress. A little longer of a wait time for being there earlier. Loved the great lounge dinner music. I’d go back. I wouldn’t pay attention to the homophobic and misspelled review that someone left.
Hopefully the wait staff is treated well because they deserve it 🙂

Well it took a little while to be waited on as there was only one waitress. Ordered a burger. It came with fries instead of the kettle chips listed in the menu. A little disappointing and they were not crispy enough for my taste. But the burger was more disappointing as it was only done medium with quite a bit of pink as compared to my friend’s which was well done. The waitress contacted the owner who sat down with us and gave us some options including recooking the burger, making a new burger to-go. When I declined that we got the bill and my burger was completely taken off!! Very nice treatment! And a coupon to use in the future Nation point! We will try again definitely

Amazing prime rib!!! My husband and I went for our anniversary. Food and service was way beyond our expectations. Katrina and Sally gave wonderful and courteous service. Rick the chef could rival any chef out there. Mark the owner really cares about customers and his business, it shows in the food and atmosphere. Thank you for the best dinning experience ever!!!!!

The food is homemade and you cab taste the difference! Great service, nice people and delicious fare for a small, locally owned restaurant. The soups, Californian and prime rib are my favorites. The owner participates in the local lions and donates to many community events The building architecture is cool too. I would recommend a reservation for groups of 5 or more, as it is a smaller place. Packer games in the tavern are fun too.

The Shepherd Express listed them as a “hidden gem” in April 2013, so I took my family, despite the negative reviews online. I was pleased with the waitstaff and the food. We had the walleye and perch, with clam chowder. The breading on the perch was a bit salty, but still good. The walleye was very good, and the soup was better than most. Reasonably priced and reasonably family friendly—they had booster seats and high chairs, but no changing table in either bathroom.

Stopped by on a Monday craving some prime rib. Looking at the menu and pictures I imagined something a bit more upscale. Well the kitchen is closed Monday – Wednesday. So no food for me. I’m assuming there is a dinning area in the back that looks a little better? From where we entered (and from the outside appearance) it is just a dive bar. A pool table and the smell of cigarettes in the air. I’ve got a gift certificate so I plan on trying again Wed – Fri.. I’ll revise my review at that time.
Edit – I should add that if you look close enough they do list the kitchen being closed on their website. Unfortunately my certificate didn’t mention it and their front page doesn’t point it out.

This was our 4th and last time going. We went Saturday the 24th of June and will not be going back. It saddens me because before this, we loved their food and it is very low key. Plus it is local and we like to support local businesses. We had horrible service from Autumn. She said she was so busy, she had 2 tables, the other waitress had 6. She said they didn’t have friend chicken, they did, someone else got it! Our salads came with our meal, no bread, no veggie tray. Never got another water other than the one i had to ask for. I ended up ordering the ribs which were mediocre at best. I was looking forward to the chicken because i had it before. We left a note for Autumn on our bill.

Awesome food and service. Server was extremely friendly & helpful. First time there but will definitely be back. It was family friendly (I have a 1 yr old) & the food was delicious. Highly recommend it!
