Millwoods Bar & Grill in Maryland Heights is the kind of place that makes you wonder if the cleaning supplies were banned sometime around 2007 and nobody ever bothered to question it.
Let’s start with the bathrooms, which are easily contenders for the worst in all of St. Louis. They haven’t been cleaned since the Rams played football here. They’re unbelievably small, consistently filthy, and give off the strong impression that a mop hasn’t crossed the threshold in years. Walking in feels less like using a restroom and more like accidentally stumbling into a public health case study.
Now here’s the rookie mistake: walking in the back door. If you do, you’ll get a quick look at the kitchen, and if you think the bathrooms are bad…. oh my, you’re in for a real treat. Seeing those two areas back-to-back is enough to make you rethink every life choice that led you to ordering food there.
Nothing kills your appetite faster than realizing the same level of “attention to detail” might be applied everywhere else in the building.
The bartenders don’t really redeem the experience either. The energy behind the bar matches the rest of the place is tired, uninspired, and clearly overdue for a reset.
Honestly, the most impressive thing about Millwoods is its ability to make you lose your appetite before you even look at the menu.
If the St. Louis Health Department ever needs a field trip location for new inspectors titled “Why Sanitation Matters,” they could probably start here.

Typical bar & grill, with a relatively small bar space but large interior dining spaces plus a small patio near traffic along Dorsett Road. During our latest visit, there was an extremely loud Sunday evening football-watching crowd filling the bar whose shouts echoed through all of the dining spaces. My wife & I received very friendly and efficient table service from Kandice (one of two waitresses covering all tables), and she checked on us regularly. We each enjoyed our dinner choices from the extensive menu: Mushroom Double Smash Burger with fries for her, Prime Beef French Dip with au jus & tater tots for me. Portions were generous enough for us to take home leftovers. We will return to the Maryland Heights MillWoods in the future, with consideration of visiting when major sports events aren’t being broadcast.

I stopped by Millwoods Sports Bar for the first time earlier this week and I’d say it’s a solid place to grab a bite. I decided to go with the Friday Special—meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. It was all very tasty and the portions were generous, making it a good value for the price. The service was friendly and efficient. The bar itself has plenty of TVs for sports fans, and a few pool tables if you’re looking to shoot a game or two. All in all, a good spot for a casual meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

Food was good and a good selection. Good sports bar. Unfortunately, they were short staffed when we were there so it was an hour plus for lunch. But the server was very polite and apologetic.

I really wanted to like Millwoods, I think they have a nice staff of people working there but the food has gone so far downhill. Had it about a year ago and could not understand why people disliked it had it a few times since and it’s slowly gotten worse. Got it today and it was horrible, portion sizing was tiny, cost was high. $14 for wings and they gave me 7 small wings, chicken caesar wrap had basically only veggies and the dressing was not caesar. Just so disappointing

Friendly staff. Food food. Darts, pool and plenty of TVs to watch the game. They have a stage for either bands or karaoke.

The server Ashley snapped at my boyfriend for his “tip of $3” for putting food in the computer. AFTER he already tipped her $5 and was going to leave a $15-$20 tip for her. She said most people would have flipped. I asked another employee and he informed us that she had a family member pass. While I am sorry but maybe stay home so you’re not snapping at customers from OUT OF TOWN. Leave your stuff at home. Food was great, atmosphere was great til she snapped. I will not be back. I have never met a bartender who complained after a $3 tip for typing it in the computer. When my boyfriend was planning on leaving her a bigger tip on top of the $8 he left after he was done ordering more drinks. Freaking ridiculous entitled people.

My son, daughter and myself went there for lunch today and the staff were friendly, food was great! My daughter got the BLT, my son got naked wings and I ordered the fish and chips(which the menu said it came with 2 pieces of fish and I got 3!) the prices are reasonable as well! I would definitely go back!

Open, spacious bar/restaurant with a capable kitchen. Friend and efficient waitstaff, surprisingly large menu, and the food was fresh and hearty. Not sure if this is typical, but caters to a little older neighborhood crowd.

Great food and friendly staff. The pub cheddar melted on the double pattied burger was amazing. I definitely recommend the fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce.
