Mills bakery never ceases to disappoint me it is an excellent bakery and one of my favorites but in all honesty the reason i gave it four stars is because of the chocolate cake i purchased here to bring to friends house for a get together and i have to say that i was embarrassed when we ate it because not only was it dry inside the chocolate inside and outside was so heavy and extremely thick believe me when i say…EXTREMELY THICK !! we felt like we were eating tar there was nothing light about it or moist and it also had a weird artificial taste to it the worst chocolate cake i ever had!! now i am not talking about their chocolate pies they are delicious i am referring to the cake now i already know what their response may be towards this review we never had any complaints about the chocolate cake but just to clarify not everyone will complain because they feel uncomfortable doing so or maybe it was just a fluke on the one cake i purchased but i wouldn’t take a chance on ordering this kind of cake again but it will not stop me from visiting and purchasing at Mills bakery they are still top of my list and never had a complaint about anything else i had ever purchased here

This bakery was a life saver for us with the sweetest people and included delivery. We explained our budget was extremely constricted and our wedding was a week away. They worked with us to make the most beautiful and delicious cake and the wedding of our dreams, which we had nearly given up on having a cake. The owner and staff was so sweet, timely and kind. 100% recommend and many blessings to this establishment.

Listen, the desserts are wonderful! Cheesecake, fruit tarts and tiramisu were Bakers kiss! The service was pleasant enough. Could have an extra dash of friendly but fine and the atmosphere was quaint. 10/10 I recommend.

I’ve always gone to Mill’s bakery for all my baking needs. Their butter cookies were always so tasty and fresh. I went in there on Thursday evening to purchase a 2lb tray and 1lb tray of butter cookies for a work party. Unfortunately, the lady fingers on the bottom of the 1lb box were stale, and the chocolate which is usually nice and soft was very hard. Also, the 2lb tray of cookies, most of them had no taste (they tasted like sawdust) The cost for 3lbs of butter cookies was over $57, which I don’t mind spending as long as the quality is good. This time, the quality of the cookies was very poor and had no taste. I called the bakery this afternoon, spoke to one of the girl’s and she put another lady on the phone. The lady said to me well, you can come in and I can give you 5 of the lady cookies, I said no (why would I want these cookies or any of their cookies that were not good) So she said, well what are you looking for. I said I’m looking for a full refund, she said I will ask the owner, but I doubt he will do it. (What happened to the customer is always right) Not even that, but make it right, do the right thing and offer a refund. She comes back on the phone and said the best he can do is give you a 1lb box of cookies, I said, no, that’s okay. I’m glad I paid thru my credit card, and I have filed a dispute. I was embarrassed at this party because I had to throw these cookies away, they tasted that bad. Shame on you Mill’s Bakery, for the prices you charge and then don’t stand by your products, blaming the consumer, saying “well, no one else has complained about it” it doesn’t matter I was always a good customer there, and you dismissed me! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! I’d go to SHOP RITE bakery before I go to Mill’s at least Shoprite always offers a full refund! Obviously, you do not stand behind your products, because if you did you would have issued a full refund!

5 magic words posted in their window did the trick. “Apple Cider Donuts Are Back!“ Established in 1929, this small bakery was mentioned in past conversations with friends. Mills Bakery offers breakfast pastries, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, breads, custom cakes and more off of Valley Blvd in Wood-Ridge. Rumor has it that their donuts sell fast. One has to get there early in the day during the week or not much is left. Luck was on my side today as one other customer and I had the whole place to ourselves. So I managed to get 1/2 dozen of apple cider doughnuts loaded with cinnamon sugar at $2 each. It was fresh, delicious, moist and didn’t disappoint. Please don’t miss out on this wonderful local bakery that has been here for over 90+ years which I could recommend.

Good find on this side of the town. The place looked closed from outside, but it was very really nice when you walked in. The rainbow cookies were good, moist, not too sweet. It is an old school dessert shop and the store carries many varieties. We will definitely sample other items when we are in the area

This used to be my go-to bakery for delicious treats and fair prices, but my recent experience was incredibly frustrating. I called for a simple custom 8 inch cake with a B&W photo and four black bows (which I’d provide) and was quoted $59.50. After emailing the details, I was told I needed a 10 inch cake to print the photo on it (fair enough) and to send the photo in B&W. Then came the confusion: after following up, I received a new quote of $89.50—including a surprise $10 charge for attaching the bows and “piping,” even though I requested only basic piping, which was supposedly included. I had to explain everything multiple times to different staff, despite having clearly outlined it in emails and calls. When I voiced my frustration, the owner condescendingly said, “OK then, $79.50,” no apology for the mishaps, nothing. I’ve always recommended this bakery to everyone and have been a loyal customer, but after this experience—and the complete lack of customer service—I won’t be doing that anymore. I don’t care about paying an extra $10, it was the lack of transparency and disregard for the customer’s time that made me take my service elsewhere.

Ordered this rosegold rosette cake for my daughter’s sweet 16 and not only did it turn out beautiful but it tasted delicious. All my guests were impressed. Thank you Mills!

Sadly they were out of the apple cider donuts but they had a pumpkin donut which was not bad, filled with pumpkin and nutmeg and cinnamon flavor for $2. Had some giant turnovers and cookies, and a lot of different bakery treats to try!
