Stop! Don’t do it! lol This review is more for those from GP who grew up getting real Millie’s Sandwiches – sadly, Millie’s is gone. This establishment merely bought the name to benefit from the historical name.
Today, I went to this place and got a Grinder, hoping to enjoy that familiar taste. It didn’t start well with a price tag of $13.95 just for the sandwich. It went down hill from there. At least they still use the signature clear plastic wrap though. However, the bread – nothing like Millie’s bread. Old and stale with a hard crust. The meat – look at the attached picture. But I could have handled the grinder with little meat if it had that signature seasoning salt on it. It was NOTHING like Millie’s seasoning salt. I went up and asked for the seasoning salt and she showed me the shaker, which had a brown hue/film on the top. I’ve stared at that shaker many times and it was red like Lowry’s salt. Lady said “this is original Millie’s seasoning salt.” Definitely not even close. No oil on sandwich either.
I cannot imagine how many Italian Grinders from Millie’s I have eaten in my life. The number of times I have tried to get Patty to tell me what the ingredients are to the secret seasoning powder are almost as many. It was an absolute waste of money and a disappointment. I’ve literally had better sandwiches from Subway. I normally would have just went on my way and taken it at a loss, but this place is hijacking the Millie’s name – at least put out the same food.
Don’t waste your time if you are going here for a trip down memory lane – at least with the Italian Grinder.

When you bite into a Millies sandwich, you will come to realize, God loves you, and wants you to be Happy. There is something special in the way they make their bread and fill it, that makes their sandwiches stand out above the rest. Smart ‘Locals’ know, Millies is ‘the’ place for a premium sandwich. Many, wise people return, again and again, thinking it is their best kept secret treasure. And so it is. I have only been returning here, for 47 years.

Last visit was at original location. I am hoping their move has not changed them
Since childhood (over 40 years ago) Millis has been my favorite sandwich shop! Fresh bread, thick sliced meat, spices and those onions! Baked goods too! A must stop every time we pass through! Sometimes we drive the 80 miles just for a sandwich !

Don’t go here. Horrible sandwichs and fries tasted like they were cooked in extremely dirty and old oil. This establishment knows they are ripping people off. Lady was rude and unhelpful. I asked for everything on it . I didn’t get lettuce and they use fake cheese . 40$ and an unearned tip for 2 sandwiches and a kids cheese burger and fries. DONT EAT HERE.!

Just don’t. Not only are the ingredients low quality, but they skimp on them too. The bread was dry and crumbled apart when you tried to take a bite. REALLY not worth it. Now I’m buying 2nd lunch elsewhere in an attempt to find something edible.
Staff was nice.

We have been long time customers at Millies. The new owners make the sandwiches just how we remember. They are friendly and seem to really care if our meal was enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

I liked the selection of sandwiches and that they had hot pastrami which is hard to find. It did take a while for our order but you can’t rush quality. The only thing holding them back from 5 stars in my opinion is their bread. If they upgraded to hoagie rolls or some other higher quality homemade bread, they would be topnotch.

This was and is, one my Husband and I’s favorite lunch date places. We have been coming here and loving it, since 1972 when we were in High School at Grants Pass High. They still has the same wonderful, delicious bread and fresh ingredients, and tastes the just as good as we always remembered! Thank you for staying open and keeping the original menu! Please don’t ever close!
