Miller’s Grocery A Country Cafe

  4.5 – 1,316 reviews   • Southern restaurant (US)

Social Profile:

Miller’s Grocery was in continuous operation as a country store for over 75 years in the once bustling whistle-stop community of Christiana, TN that included a 3-story hotel, a bank, a telephone office and some 15 other businesses. In 1995, the building was restored as an antique filled, country cafe featuring home-style Southern cooking and award winning “from scratch” desserts. The name “Miller’s Grocery” remains in memory of long-time proprietor Mr. Stanley Miller and as a tribute to a by-gone era.

Antique filled, country cafe featuring home-style Southern cooking, live Bluegrass & Sunday brunch.

100% recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food! Everything seemed like it was cooked with care and make from scratch! The service was incredible, even the owner was out checking in on the customers!

15/10 highly recommended!

We were lucky to eat there for lunch. The buffet was full of all your favorite southern foods. Everything was fantastic on the buffet. Desserts were great. Having grown up in Murfreesboro and call Texas my home know. It was great to taste the flavors of my youth. A shout out to Rylin, our server. She took excellent care of us.

Miller’s Grocery is a slice of the past. Country style cooking, but I was able to enjoy the grilled chicken sandwich, without the bread. Fries were not gluten free, but I splurged and had a tummy ache the rest of the day.
The space was very cold (felt like 50 degrees) and my nose and toes were chilled by the end of our meal.

This place has went down hill !!! Gross is the only word I can think of right now Went here for a dinner with family, and it was awful!! Chicken and dressing tasted like stuffing and canned chicken. The potatoes tasted as if they were instant ,burgers were just ok , French fries cold and nasty very cheap frozen fries. The kind no one likes, lol . Squash casserole was just mushy gooey and no flavor , Mac n cheese was runny and microwaved. The cat fish was ok but not the best I’ve had. The cornbread tasted like Jiffy boxed cornbread , If this food is actually made from scratch, it was definitely a bad day for the cook . You can tell this place is not run by the same people as was in the past .It has gone way downhill, not impressed at all

Well Dana & Steven where on our way to an appointment in Nashville needed somewhere to eat quickly. We stopped at Millers Grocery in Christana. Fast food would have been better. At $25.00 per person buffet that was barley warm and very small. The owner really needs to go to The Dinner Table $12.99 per person in Shelbyville, Marvin’s Family Restaurant $12.99 per person in Fayetteville for way less money and always fresh and hot. I use to have standing reservations on Sunday with the old owners it was fantastic.

This place has really gone downhill. I come here pretty often on Sundays, but today will be the last one of those.

The food on top of being ice cold, was also not good. For $25 a head, this place should at least have hot food. Avoid this place if you want decent food or decent service.

If you own this place you should definitely take a look at all of your one star reviews and address this before your business goes the way of the dodo bird.

I’ll never be back again!

We have been coming to Millers for a while usually on Sundays after church. The buffet price is a bit steep and would love to see that go down and I would love to see a change in the meat options instead of the same thing every week. But I just wanted to shout out our server. She was amazing! She ran the whole restaurant by herself. There was another lady there but she sat on the register on her phone the whole time, and seemed to have a bit of an attitude. But our server never missed a beat at any of the tables our drinks were never empty, she was funny and still made time to stop and talk to us and our kids and made us feel like family, just what I expected from this small town restaurant. She deserves recognition for being able to handle the whole busy restaurant and still make sure to bring southern hospitality to her customers. We will definitely be back!

Met the owner today at the Moonpie Festival. He invited us to enjoy a free dessert and live music. The food was delicious. Great service. Fabulous atmosphere. Totally worth the drive! 10/10. We will be back!

This place is so amazing. Everybody was so kind and customer service 11/10! We dined in this morning with Kylie* (pardon spelling) amazing service and voice. Nate came over to change out some tableside flowers and learned it was our first visit he actually cared and made it even more enjoyable. He told us of the evenings entertainment of miss Kylie singing so we came back again. We had the pleasure of Abby serving us. She so knowledgeable and gave us amazing service as well. In a world of poor customer service you won’t experience that here. Honestly amazing!!

Food: 11/10!! Born and raised in Chicago and this is now one of my favorite restaurants. Unbelievably great scratch food and dessert. I mean everything was great and tasty.

So worth the little drive, definitely will be back again.

Beautiful Lil old place.
Food good except boyfriend said the Country Fried Steak tasted of grease maybe being old/needing changed.
I loved my Fried Livers and white beans.
Yummy.
12.99 to 14.99 for plates with 2 sides and a piece of cornbread.
