Service

Staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make smart recommendations.
Overall
Miller Ale’s House nails the trifecta: delicious food, excellent service, and speedy delivery. It’s become my go-to spot, and I can’t wait to return.
If you’re deciding where to dine or order from, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended.
Wrong…. At least in the staff’s eyes. We had to wait approximately 8 minutes from the time we were seated till someone came to take our order. Then, even though it was requested to bring over the salad and nachos now and the entrees later, the female who was “helping” us, waited until everything was ready and brought it over.
Why does that make a difference? It took over 20 minutes from order placed to get salad and nachos???? Really? It’s that much of a task to place lettuce on a plate and chips on another and bring it over? Wow!
I mentioned “lettuce” only because there were no croutons (as I ordered Caesar) and no dressing. Then the TexMex chicken nachos really had nothing more than just chips (with a hint – almost a joke – of chicken and the other toppings.)
Then when the entree came out, the salmon was drenched in some sauce. It was tasty but it was like they were wanting the fish to swim in it I guess. Hey, fish is dead.
Anyways, come time for the drinks to be refilled (water and soda respectively), that never happened. Oh wait…. It did once I requested the hostess to request the manager to come over to our table.
Needless to say, wasn’t happy as I disclosed information of our visit for that day.
Did the manager seem to care? Nope. Did the waitress seem to care? Nope. It’s wasn’t till
AFTER I spoke to the manager that she comes over and offers to refill our drinks.
Sorry, miss, you’re too late. Go back and hold the countertop by leaning on it like you did the entire time we were waiting for you to bring our food and also refill the drinks — which again, never did refill the drinks.
So, will we return to this Miller Ale House. NOPE…. and suggests neither should you. That is unless you want the same horrible service we received that day.
Again, the manager or the staff (for the most part) won’t seem to mind if you show up or not.
UPDATE AS OF 2/14/24, STILL NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE WITH THE EMAIL THAT I SENT ON 2/10/24.
VERY POOR MANAGEMENT
2/12/24, I sent an email on 2/10/24, still haven’t heard back. To the email that was provided.
If I could give a zero I would. Ordered 3
6 oz medium rare filet , waitress came came back and said they don’t have 6oz on 8oz. Said fine, but charge us for 6oz sice you dont have it. All the steaks came out well done. We ordered all 3 medium rare….(pink) Manager says I’ll take off the appetizer, its 12.00 off. I said no take off the steaks. Were not eating them. Salad had no dressing, appetizer chicken nachos came out dry. Only took off 2 steaks. Didn’t even enjoy our meal. Manager never offered to make us new ones, or offer different food. Waste of money and still paid. Manager was only interested in giving us free dessert. Never again will I go back to this location. We used to go every weekend. Ruined our lunch and went somewhere else to eat.
The food was fine, no complaints there, but the service was another story. Yesterday was Election Day in the U.S., and the restaurant was almost empty. I politely asked the server if it was possible to adjust one of the TVs to follow the election coverage, and she referred the request to someone who seemed to be the manager. And here’s the infuriating part: this person, without even introducing himself or showing an ounce of courtesy, curtly told us they couldn’t show “politics or religion.” There was no “sorry,” no polite explanation—nothing. We felt censored and, honestly, mistreated.
I understand there may be company policies, but the way this was handled was unacceptable! What kind of customer service is this? A manager should know how to read situations and treat loyal customers with respect. I did not expect such a disappointing experience from Miller’s Ale House. Please, improve the attitude of your staff toward customers!
While seated at the bar, a customer entered the restaurant with what appeared to be a cockroach on his shoulder. The insect then flew onto the television directly above the bar, an area where food and beverages were actively being served. A nearby patron became visibly distressed and attempted to point out the insect.
The manager was immediately notified and shown the exact location of the insect. His response was alarming—he looked at it and walked away without taking any action. No attempt was made to remove the insect, clean the area, reassure customers, or follow basic sanitation protocols.
I raised the issue again through the bartender, who relayed our concern to the manager. His response was that he would need to get a ladder to address it and that he was not interested in doing so. This level of indifference is unacceptable in any food establishment.
Local and county health department regulations require restaurants to be free of pests and to take immediate corrective action when insects—especially cockroaches—are observed in food service areas. Visible pests in dining or bar areas are a clear violation of standard health inspection criteria and raise serious concerns about overall sanitation, pest control practices, and management oversight.
The manager’s failure to act demonstrated a complete disregard for health department expectations, customer safety, and basic food handling standards. Ignoring a known pest issue in plain view of patrons is not just negligent—it is a potential health code violation.
As a result of this experience, we will not be returning and are strongly considering reporting this incident to the local health department so it can be properly addressed during inspection. This establishment’s lack of urgency and accountability has permanently changed our view of their commitment to cleanliness and public health.
