Thank you Carol for your attentive and informative service during our visit. Your suggestions for food made our dinner choices from the very appealing and quantity of items on the menu much easier. The food was hot, tasty and served in a timely manner. The atmosphere was ok, it’s a bar with restaurant seating. It was clean, easy to locate and had parking directly out front. I would visit again and recommend to a quick, tasty meal while in Staunton.

Don’t make this your backup plan, make it your priority one! The experience at Mill Street Grill was outstanding. The atmosphere gave a French Quarter / Tasteful Mardi Gras theme. All staff members very engaging and friendly (even during a very busy dinner scene). The ribs and the crab cakes come highly recommended. One of the best portioned crab cakes I’ve had at a fair market price. The ribs were also outstanding! Nice selection of drinks at the bar.

Food was amazing from the appetizer to the dessert palette cleanser. We had the smoked salmon appetizer that was so good with the toasted bread and capers, mustard or onions to top it off. Then the complimentary bread was so soft and delicious as well as the cinnamon butter. My daughter’s had the kids spaghetti and the Mahi Mahi blackened which they finished every bite. My husband had the special blackened catfish and shrimp and I had the duck marmalade with mushroom ravioli, let me say it was soooooooo delicious. The wait was not long and the service was great. If you ever get out to Staunton, VA please try this place out. And last, Tara was an amazing server, she was very attentive and took great care of us ❤️❤️❤️

Considering how affordable this spot is, I was genuinely blown away. From the bread to the final scoop of ice cream, everything was delicious. Such a great overall experience. 100% recommend!

Poor quality food. Mediocre service. Overpriced.
$138 for two (one shared appetizer, two entrees, one beer).

I had shrimp and chicken pesto pasta. The whole meal was swimming in grease and tasteless. I’m pretty sure had I eaten it, it would’ve passed straight through. Yuck.

Mrs H had $50 lamb cutlets that were served cold, and pretty tasteless. They came in some type of brown sauce with vegetables, but swimming in water rather than grease.
These meals were on the “specials” menu, so “chef” should’ve been able to cook these well.

I raised the issues, and our server just said “sorry for the food”.

I’m left with the impression that this place thrives on passing crowds, and little competition in Staunton. I cannot recommend this restaurant

That said Taste of India just round the corner is brilliant, and half the price.

Tonight’s dinner was at Mill Street Grill in Staunton, VA! The lights were a bit dim, so the picture quality isn’t the best.

The bread is always tasty and is free. It had pumpkin butter on the side.

I had one of their specials! I had their barbecued beef ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and collards! They are known for their ribs here and also their prime rib.

The sauce was nice and caramelized as advertised and really good. The beef ribs were super tender and delicious! No complaints at all. If you are in the area, swing by!

You also get a little free peppermint ice cream for dessert.

Had the burger and was able to swap out the sides and have garlic mashed potatoes instead… I’m very happy about that. Loved the bread – 3 breads in one pot with apple cinnamon butter. The burger was average, but big points because they served it rare like I asked❤️. The booth cushions were super comfy. Our server was just right. Got there at 5pm on a Monday and had no wait, but there were lots of people waiting by the time we finished up.

Absolutely loved our visit! The service was next level — our server was funny, courteous, and kept everything flowing perfectly. You could tell they genuinely cared we were having a good time.

I tried the blackened chicken fettuccine, and wow. The flavors were bold but balanced, and the dish felt both comforting and a little special at the same time. Everything we ordered was just excellent.

The place itself has a great vibe — casual yet polished, perfect for a relaxed dinner. Highly recommend it if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back, and I’m already thinking about what I’ll order next time.

I do not know what took me so long to a dine at Mill Street Grill!

Last night was Fat Tuesday – the atmosphere was lively- the band (Rhythm Roads ) was awesome !Anna , the bartender is friendly & makes a great cocktail!

The food was delicious!
Our wait person was Amanti – she did a wonderful job – we sat down late and she was very patient and friendly at every moment! We never felt rushed.

The chef / owner ( Ron ) knows what he is doing ! The kitchen was on point !

The bread is so delicious baked in house – it was served with a strawberry butter – evidently they change it often !

I can see why they are known for their Prime Rib – tender & cooked perfectly! Served with a delicious horseradish cream sauce and a baked potato, also a beautiful house salad… the dressings and sauces are all made in house & you can taste the difference.

We also shared fried oysters & oysters Rock. The oyster were so fresh – once again the sauces did not disappoint!

Proque was a Mardi Gras special and was full of fresh scallops , shrimp and served with dirty rice… wonderful!

Will definitely be back – sad to say no pics this time- I was too busy having fun !
