$138 for two (one shared appetizer, two entrees, one beer).
I had shrimp and chicken pesto pasta. The whole meal was swimming in grease and tasteless. I’m pretty sure had I eaten it, it would’ve passed straight through. Yuck.
Mrs H had $50 lamb cutlets that were served cold, and pretty tasteless. They came in some type of brown sauce with vegetables, but swimming in water rather than grease.
These meals were on the “specials” menu, so “chef” should’ve been able to cook these well.
I raised the issues, and our server just said “sorry for the food”.
I’m left with the impression that this place thrives on passing crowds, and little competition in Staunton. I cannot recommend this restaurant
That said Taste of India just round the corner is brilliant, and half the price.
The bread is always tasty and is free. It had pumpkin butter on the side.
I had one of their specials! I had their barbecued beef ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and collards! They are known for their ribs here and also their prime rib.
The sauce was nice and caramelized as advertised and really good. The beef ribs were super tender and delicious! No complaints at all. If you are in the area, swing by!
You also get a little free peppermint ice cream for dessert.
I tried the blackened chicken fettuccine, and wow. The flavors were bold but balanced, and the dish felt both comforting and a little special at the same time. Everything we ordered was just excellent.
The place itself has a great vibe — casual yet polished, perfect for a relaxed dinner. Highly recommend it if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back, and I’m already thinking about what I’ll order next time.
Last night was Fat Tuesday – the atmosphere was lively- the band (Rhythm Roads ) was awesome !Anna , the bartender is friendly & makes a great cocktail!
The food was delicious!
Our wait person was Amanti – she did a wonderful job – we sat down late and she was very patient and friendly at every moment! We never felt rushed.
The chef / owner ( Ron ) knows what he is doing ! The kitchen was on point !
The bread is so delicious baked in house – it was served with a strawberry butter – evidently they change it often !
I can see why they are known for their Prime Rib – tender & cooked perfectly! Served with a delicious horseradish cream sauce and a baked potato, also a beautiful house salad… the dressings and sauces are all made in house & you can taste the difference.
We also shared fried oysters & oysters Rock. The oyster were so fresh – once again the sauces did not disappoint!
Proque was a Mardi Gras special and was full of fresh scallops , shrimp and served with dirty rice… wonderful!
Will definitely be back – sad to say no pics this time- I was too busy having fun !
