Very nice food and jpop playlist…. The hongkong toast is amazing with right amount of peanut butter, condensed milk and brown sugar butter. Not to mention the french toast. The pandan butter mochi is super soft and BUTTERY. The shokupan is also great with elastic textures and strong and shiny bread crusts.
Worth visiting and will visit again.

I found this place walking around downtown SJC. I came back the next day to try it out and it was well worth it! The Breakfast Sando is perfect, lots of yummy egg and the flavor is spot on. Must try with the habanero yuzu hot sauce they’re slingin. Iced coffee was a perfect pairing and didn’t leave me feeling jittery. Staff was cool calm and collected even with a line starting to run out the front door. Great spot!

On a rainy Thursday afternoon, my partner and I finally had the chance to try out the sandos here and they lived up to the hype. This place is really highly acclaimed and understandably so. The vibes in here are great and the decor is just the right amount of quirky. The food was also fantastic. We ordered the Japanese egg sando and the longanisa breakfast sando as well. Both were great with a lot of flavor and the shokupan bread was so nice and soft. I’d definitely come back to this place to try some of their other options as everything we tried was awesome. Just beware they do sell out of stuff quickly. They literally have their sold out signs ready to go right by the menu board. It can also be really tough to get a table as they have a very small space.

Cozy little cafe with delicious food, baked goods, and drinks! I tried this place out on a whim and wasn’t disappointed at all. I got a Japanese egg salad sandwich and a hash brown and both were fresh and delicious. The egg salad sandwich was made using their freshly baked shokupan and had the perfect ratio of filling to bread with the perfect texture. The egg salad was topped with a soft boiled egg which made the sandwich even better. The hash brown was very crispy, fresh, and pretty large. The staff are all really friendly and the cafe is clean and well kept. It gets quite busy during brunch/lunch time but service is still pretty efficient. They have quite a few things on their menu so I’ll definitely be back to try them out!

Great little spot in DTSJ and the food was delish. Per Lar’s suggestion, we ordered the smoked salmon toast, and the garden green sandwich add bacon, along with the milk tea and viet coffee….all was tasty and plenty of food. Very cool also to watch the crew prepping and baking bread, and working away making sandwiches and good looking food. I’ll be back, and looking forward to it. Bravo Milk Belly!

Very cute and cozy little place! Incredible egg and fruit Sandos, probably the best in Bay Area! The milk bread is pillowy soft and the cream inside is light and velvety with freshness of the fruit! It makes a perfect breakfast spot! They also have some good drinks and more baked goods, which I will definitely be back to try!

I’d had this bakery saved for a while and finally decided to stop by when we were craving something sweet. The line was very long, and the ordering process moved slowly, but everything looked so fresh that we decided to wait it out. We picked up a whole loaf of their fresh bread — one of the last few available — and it was absolutely worth it!
I also ordered the fruit sando with strawberries and whipped cream, which was light, fresh, and delicious. We asked the staff for drink recommendations and ended up trying the Kyobancha Iced Tea and the Sweet Yuzu Tea — both were refreshing and perfectly balanced.
I’d love to return to try their breakfast sandwiches and pies next time. Just a heads-up: this place gets quite busy on Saturdays, so visiting on a weekday might be a better option if you want to avoid the line that often stretches out the door.
Parking can be tricky since it’s located in the middle of downtown — there’s no parking directly in front of the bakery, but there are metered spots about a block away in either direction.

Phenomenal milk bread sandos! Probably some of the best in the Bay Area. Bread is super fluffy and soft. The sandos themselves are delightful and packed with flavor – they’re also substantial enough to keep you full all afternoon! The chicken salad one was very refreshing and fresh tasting, while the breakfast ones (with and without the sausage) were a savory, comforting bite. Egg salad sando was also great with a good balance of textures between the egg and egg salad, bonus points for not being too salty too.
Was quite busy on a Saturday around lunch but still managed to snag a couple table for a fairly large group. Staff were super helpful with making sure we weren’t blocking the way and offering additional stools as well. Also, love that despite the busyness the staff member taking orders still took the time for a little chitchat and was mentioning to me how great the neighboring businesses are – such a green flag!

If I lived in San Jose I would be here once a week. Everything I sampled was absolutely amazing. The milkbread, the egg sandwich, the ube scone, everything. Service is prompt and friendly, and the ambience is with just the right amount of bustle (at least at 9 a.m. on a Friday). Highly recommend!

Good sandwiches, both the savory and the sweet. The potatoes were heavenly, and the latte was great too. Just missed the window to try the smash burger sando, so I will be back to try it!
