Breakfast Buffet located at the Hale Koa Hotel. Affordable, for military and retired guests and hotel guests, less than $30 with ocean views and your common breakfast buffet. We came at the perfect time on a Friday morning before 8am and before the rush arrived. We got a nice outdoor table with the views of the ocean and outside, there are nets so birds can get in. You can order drinks and smoothies for a charge. There is an omelette station and I think you can request special plates, but overall it’s a traditional continental breakfast buffet with salmon eggs benedict, French toast, and some Hawaiian dishes too. Located at the Kalia side of the towers on the side where check in is. The parking garage is across the street from the hotel. You can also charge to your room or pay there, I think my parents got a senior citizen discount. Convenient if you’re staying at this hotel.

Koko at Kalia is a fantastic dining option, but keep in mind that you do have to be a resort guest or have a military ID to eat there. If you have access, it is absolutely worth the visit.
They have a great selection of food, and I love that there are slight differences in the menu depending on what day you go. It keeps the variety fresh if you are staying for a few days. The quality is consistently high and everything we tried was delicious.
My biggest tip for anyone visiting is to always ask to sit outside. The atmosphere is much better and it really completes the dining experience. Between the food quality and the beautiful setting, it is an easy five stars.

$28 and only LIPTON tea?! Had to bring my own English Breakfast Tea. Shabby furnishings and decor. Very disappointing buffet. Not kept clean and tidy

Food was great lot of great options. Seafood was relatively good for the price not many places you can get all you can eat crap. Great food for the price. Service was great always making sure we had refills and was taking the plates. Over all great experience glad we came here.

We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. This is our 3rd morning having it. I am a very picky non-meat eater and there was plenty there for me.

An excellent breakfast! I was a little hesitant to go to a generic buffet while vacationing in Hawaii, but it was quite excellent all around. Even had some more local food options. Something for everyone (we had three kids with us). If you’re staying at the Hale Koa I do recommend. You can also try to request a table with the best view. ️

Gray place for military current and past to get together. The buffet isn’t too of the line but there is no other place in Waikiki to get a buffet for this price.

Three staff is what makes three places though. Quick and courteous seating and wait staff who are friendly and efficient. Management- Timothy F is a rockstar. Give this guy a raise!

Koko at Kalia is one of those places that truly never disappoints, and after coming here for years, it remains a reliable and enjoyable breakfast spot inside the Hale Koa Resort. Consistency is the biggest strength here, the food is always fresh, well prepared, and served in a relaxed setting that feels perfect for starting the day in Hawaii.
Breakfast has always been the highlight, with a solid buffet that offers a good variety of classic favorites and lighter options. Everything tastes fresh and well executed, which is not always guaranteed with resort buffets. During the COVID-19 period, Koko at Kalia temporarily offered an à la carte menu, and that was honestly a great option. Being able to order a simple plated breakfast each morning was convenient and enjoyable, especially for guests who didn’t want a full buffet every day. While that option is no longer available, the buffet remains very good and continues to deliver consistent quality.
Pricing is reasonable for a resort location, especially in Honolulu. Expect to pay around $25–26 per adult for breakfast, with pricing varying slightly depending on age and military rank, which makes it a solid value compared to many nearby hotel dining options.
You can actually eat here if you are active military/guard/reserve without being a guest at the resort and take advantage of the relaxed pace, this is not a rushed dining experience. If you’re staying at the Hale Koa, the convenience alone makes it worth returning multiple mornings. I cant understand the quality and ambience of this place!
Overall, Koko at Kalia remains a dependable, satisfying breakfast choice that rewards repeat visits. Even without the à la carte option, it continues to deliver fresh food, fair pricing, and a comfortable resort atmosphere that keeps us coming back year after year
