@milehighmosusa is a great local spot in Austin known for hearty comfort food, generous portions, and bold flavors. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, making it an easy choice for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. Their menu focuses on classic favorites done right, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and satisfying portions.
We ordered the Philly cheesesteak, buffalo chicken fingers, and the smash burger, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Philly cheesesteak was packed with tender, flavorful meat and melted cheese, while the buffalo chicken fingers were crispy, juicy, and perfectly coated with just the right amount of heat. The smash burger stood out with its crispy edges, juicy patty, and well-balanced toppings.
Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made to order. Mile High Mo’s delivers solid comfort food that hits the spot, and it’s definitely a place worth checking out if you’re in Austin and craving something flavorful and satisfying.

I was only in Austin for a couple of days, and as always, my first mission was to find great food. I stumbled across Mile High Mo’s completely by accident, and wow – what a happy accident! This place absolutely blew me away.

I went for the Steak Philly, and even though it’s not a super-traditional cheesesteak, it was perfection. Easily a 10/10 – I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone. The meat was rich and flavorful, the bun was perfectly soft, and I loved that the sauce came on the side so I could add exactly the amount I wanted. Every bite had this incredible balance: savory, punchy, satisfying, but never overly heavy.

The smash burger somehow managed to be even better (I didn’t think that was possible!). The patty was seared to crispy perfection on the outside while still juicy and pink in the middle, seasoned just right, and topped with the ideal amount of sauce, flavorful without drowning anything. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and made with care. I really hope this wasn’t a one-off experience because I’m already planning my next trip back to Austin just to eat here again. If you’re anywhere near Mile High Mo’s, do yourself a favor and stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

Ordered the Double First Class Smash burger and a poutine on Uber. The burger bun was soggy and there were barely any toppings, barely any lettuce and sauce, mostly just onions and pickles. I’m originally from Quebec and I can say with certainty that the “Quebec style” poutine is anything but; the gravy was too salty and there weren’t enough cheese curds. Not sure what all the hype is about this place but I really wasn’t impressed. Even 2 stars is generous.

This night was full of surprises and a whole lot of feeling spoilt. The night atarted with this incredubky flavorful beef steak burger with caranalized onions, this homemade rosemary sauce housed in the most perfect bun. The second course was the philly cheesesteak. It had onions, jalapenos and more of that rosemary sauce topped with invredible cheese. Next came the putine fries toppped with cheese and vegan gravy. Literally every bite on all of those was incrediblt flavorful and all full of surprises. What I did not expect was the dessert blowing my mind the way it did. we had the funnel cake fries with chocolate chips and cheese cake bites topped with chicolate sauce ans vanilla icecream. I cnanot stress enough how amazing this entire meal
was.
The service was even better. We had the owner servinf us his proud crearions, showering us with so much love. 10/10 would refommend.

I came here based on all the glowing reviews and left seriously disappointed.

The Philly cheesesteak was described by others as flavorful and amazing, but mine was soggy, bland, and completely lacking flavor. The meat didn’t taste seasoned at all, and the whole sandwich just felt wet and boring.

The fries were another letdown. They’re advertised and reviewed as crispy and double-fried, but ours were soggy and limp. Definitely not what was promised.

The cheese curds were okay — nothing special, but at least edible.

What really pushed this experience over the edge was the bathroom. It was dirty and smelled strongly like urine, which is unacceptable for any restaurant.

We paid around $50 for two sandwiches and an order of cheese curds, which feels wildly overpriced for the quality we received. For that price point, I expect much better food and cleanliness.

I honestly don’t understand the high volume of positive reviews based on our experience. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but it was bad enough that we won’t be back.

If you want a truly great Philly cheesesteak, go to Cherrywood Cafe across the highway. Their sandwich is outstanding — real slices of beef (not ground), full of flavor, and made the way a Philly should be.

Super disappointed overall.

We first saw mo’s on IG when a foodie had posted about trying out the cheesesteaks in Austin. To be honest we haven’t been super big on cheesesteaks, but the burgers they featured is what originally caught our eye. We also really liked the name and found out that they import their bread and meat steak from Philly and poutine for their fries from Quebec Canada which is super cool and also made us want to try the cheesesteaks and fries just because of that!

We got the fully loaded Steak Philly (1/2 mile) which was about 6-7 inches and it was soooooo much better and more flavorful then the one we had when we were in philly! The seasonings that they use on the meat gives it such a greater depth of flavor!

The burgers were also as expected… DELICIOUS!! We got the full mile on both, which meant we had 9oz of black angus beef (2 4.5oz patties). We tried the bacon bomber which was like a sweet and savory bacon egg burger and we also tried the cheese coma which had a katsu style cheese aka deep fried cheese on the burger. We we so impressed with the flavorings of the meat itself! You could literally taste the quality!

The fries they have are some of THE BEST we’ve had! We really enjoy a crispy fry and these were double fried giving you that perfect texture! The portions that they give are VERY generous and they live up to the name that they go the extra mile with first class food!

Plus we couldn’t skip on dessert! The Texas tornado is exactly that…. A whirl wind of wonder that will twist the taste buds in every direction! Its basically funnel cake fries, topped with cheesecake bites, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Totally a NEED!

If you haven’t checked them out, stop waiting and GO!!! They are 100000% worth the trip and the calories!

The fries were solid—not salty and thick—but the gravy fell short of the rich, classic Poutine gravy flavor that I was hoping for, and the cheese curds lacked that signature squeak, leaving them more rubbery than fresh. I really enjoyed the Smashburger—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it was the standout of the meal. However, the Philly didn’t taste at all like a classic Philly. Prices are okay and there is plenty of air-conditioned seating inside. We ordered at one of the 2 kiosks and an employee brought out our food as it was ready.

Had the smash burger and it might have been the best burger I’ve had in years. Phenomenal taste, patty was crisped nicely and the SAUCE!? Man their special sauce is delicious

The staff is really nice too! We also tried the chili fries on their recommendation- also delicious. Has a nice smokey flavor to it.

10/10 I recommend this spot 🙂
