The family and I went for the Tuesday breakfast for dinner. The buffet was awesome complete with sausage, bacon, eggs, bologna, gravy, pancakes, fried chicken, grits, French toast, hash browns, a full salad bar, cake, ice cream.
The waitress was attentive and keep our drinks full. Very warm and home style atmosphere.

Brandy was amazing she had the hometown hospitality the restaurant gives. The food was amazing as well! Great salad bar and free tea or coffee with weekday buffet so perfect for a cheap but delicious meal budget!

If you’re anywhere near Ardmore, Alabama, you have to stop at Mildred’s Restaurant. This is, without a doubt, the best country buffet I’ve ever been to.
First of all, you cannot beat the price $12.95 for the full buffet plus sweet or unsweet tea. That alone is a win. But the food? That’s what really makes it special.
Do yourself a favor and wait for the fresh batches of fried chicken, fried fish, and fried green tomatoes. When I say it’s worth the wait, I mean it. Everything tastes homemade, seasoned just right, and cooked the way true Southern food is supposed to be.
If you’re traveling through Alabama headed toward Tennessee (or the other way around), make this your stop. You won’t regret it.
Honestly, I wish I lived closer. I’d be there at least once a week probably more. And I already know if we had a Mildred’s in Texas, the line would be wrapped around the building!
This place is the real deal.

When I think of good old southern food this is it! It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced southern hospitality. This has it all. A true taste of the south with that southern charm that made me fall in love with the south. I could tell that this place is a staple to the community. Truly an amazing stuff with wonderful vibrant character.

We made a huge mistake Tuesday afternoon. My husband wanted steak, so we went to Golden Corral in Decatur. BAD IDEA! All we could do was sit there and complain about the food being cold, old, not good, burned (husband’s steak), and not meeting the standards that Mildred’s does. We left with an anonymous family decision, we will NOT be going back.

Mildred’s in Ardmore is by far, the best family style, country style buffet restaurant around. We went tonight, my favorite night. They usually have a shrimp boil and live music on Thursday evenings.

We have been to Mildred’s many times since our first visit, we have NEVER been disappointed.

Always, and I mean ALWAYS, the food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere, no matter what day/night you go is peaceful, clean and shows just how family friendly it is.

The service, from the staff stocking the buffet/salad bars to the young lady behind the counter running the register, and especially the servers. They are so friendly, courteous, well mannered, and professional.

If I could give Mildred’s a 10 star review, I would.

Closest to homemade you can get. Great experience all the way around. Can’t believe the price for that much food. Already planning another trip to go.

Mildred’s has never disappointed! Buffet style but the food is outstanding. Fried chicken, green beans and banana pudding are my favorites. Wide selection of other options. Well stocked salad bar and a multitude of dessert options. Attentive service also.

Good gravy! If you yearn for yesteryear Southern buffets like Morrison’s and Piccadilly look no further! The catfish and shrimp were good and fresh, collards were scrumptious, and salads were fresh. A little tight on the inside but it’s mostly because of the popularity of the place – parking was limited only due to capacity during dinner time hours. Ardmore eats here.

Wife, kids and I made the journey up to Mildred’s from Huntsville – it was worth the trip! This place was hopping on a Saturday afternoon, we got here right at 1130ish and were able to easily find a seat. Plenty of parking available despite being busy.

There are two buffet islands, one with main course and sides and some desert, the other with a salad bar and more desert options. There is also an ice cream machine that my wife swears tastes just like Chik-fil-a’s.

The food is almost all southern, and some of it got rotated out while we ate (the chicken and dumplings gave way to country fried steak and gravy). Fried Chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, fried okra, corn, green beans, man n cheese — the list goes on and on.

By and large, the food was exceptional. The fried chicken was moist and the breading is flavorful, the mashed potatoes were good. Pulled pork was succulent and the BBQ sauce was great. The strawberry shortcake was delicious. Only downsides from my visit was that the corn bread was a tad dry and not sweat (that’s a preference thing) and there was no gravy for the mashed potatoes. That being said the yeast rolls are great. The chicken fried steak got rotated in with some pepper gravy (a bit watery) but these were the only nitpicks I found with my visit. Overall the best southern food and best buffet near Huntsville.

My waitress (‘Granny’) was hustling, she made sure the plates were cleared and the drinks stayed full. Everyone seemed to know her and she was able to be friendly with the locals while taking care of business. All of the employees I saw were busy, wiping down the buffet lines, bringing in heaps of food and just making it a great experience.

The value was phenomenal — $12.50 for adults and $7 for kids. I wish they served Coke products and lived next door then they’d be perfect. If you’re reading about this place and you live in Hunstville, its worth the drive. If you’re a local, its probably a staple and you already know. 5 stars, would recommend. Thanks!

We had a big party of 46 and the staff was great!! The food was hot and tasty. The server went out of her way to make sure my seniors had what they needed.
