After searching restaurants within a 25 mile radius for dine-in roast beef and seafood, on a wing and a prayer, we drove twenty miles from a neighboring county to Mildred’s. The visit did not disappoint! We were greeted with down-home Southern hospitality by the owner and seated for a delicious dining experience. My husband’s roast beef was flavorfully tender, and my fried oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had outside of my father’s special recipe. Likewise, the fellowship with other diners also was a welcomed treat.

Stopped while passing through town while on a long trip. Food was good. Learned a lot about the kind of place this town is when the waitress excused herself for a couple minutes to drive an elderly customer home. She explained that they pick him up and drop him off twice a week so he can get out to lunch.

I absolutely love the Roast Beef here, great small town feel. This will be my go to place for fresh and really hot food. Plus, you need to sell me that Dale Earnhardt drawing

If you’re driving through this quaint little town make a pitstop at Mildred’s for lunch or dinner. We were driving through and in search of a meal and were glad we took a chance here. I wish I would have taken a picture of the burger but I put it down too quickly. I was hungry so I ordered the double but I’m pretty sure a single would have filled me. These aren’t your McD patties. They appear to be handmade and are so thick the double cheeseburger is hard to fit in your mouth.
My wife ordered the jumbo shrimp and they were on par as well. Had some great seasoning and cooked just right!
Definitely a gem in the middle of nowhere!

Our 55th wedding anniversary, trying a resturant in a different town.
1st choice was closed so we tried Mildred’s.
Small, about 10 tables. We ordered Catfish filets with mashed potatoes and gravy. The waitress brought our plates with a half a baked (boiled) potato, they ran out of the mashed potato’s at 4:45 PM and never told the waitress. I also ordered pickled beets, they were served right out of the can, not pickled.
Catfish was good, 2 large filets.

I recommend this place! We stopped here just passing through and found the service to be great. Good food and cheap prices. A perfect combination at a good restaurant.

If you love the country and you have been away from it for a while, this is the place to go. This time of year, I had a BLT and a tossed salad and it was good. The tomatoes are wonderful. So having good tomatoes on your BLT or a burger, awesome and juicy! Umm umm! GOOD!
I will have to go back and try some other items. We were riding our Motcycles and stopped for lunch. Good choice. Thank you. Blessings to you.

Good, down home, country cooking! Love their fried shrimp or fried catfish for lunch. The country ham breakfast is great and all their baked goods are excellent….yeast rolls, biscuits, pies, cornbread….

The food itself was good, and so was the service. However, portion size was super small for the price you’re paying. Used to love eating there, but not so much anymore.
